A group of 10 people pre-booked to celebrate Christmas. We were given a warm welcome and I must say the Christmas decorations were splendid. The service was good and the food well cooked, served efficiently and more than enough for anyone. We had an excellent evening entertained by the City of Wells Band with some carols. Our group have met for a Christmas meal for the past 20 years and everyone in our party agreed this was the best. I can highly recommend it. Not the cheapest meal but you get what you pay for and this certainly exceeded our expectations.

We visited the Rodney Stoke Inn last night for my Grandmothers birthday, whilst the table was very nicely decorated the service we received was absoloutely appalling. We ordered our starter and main together, 45 mins later the starter finally arrived and to say the portions were meagre is an understatement. (Can I also point out that the food is also probably bought in frozen and defrosted when needed, hence the huge menu choice. No good home cooked food here) Once we had finished our starters it was another good 20 mins before the plates were even cleared despite trying to get the staffs attention on more than one occasion. It was another half an hour at least until we got our main course by which time we were all slightly irritated and the lovely evening we had planned had started to go down hill. Whilst waiting there was no- one asking if we were ok or needed anything and even when we had our food I ended up going to look for my own vinegar because even after asking 3 times it still did not appear. The food was not even that nice, especially considering the extortionate prices. We did mention to the person behind the bar that we were not happy with the service and all we got was 'well we are busy tonight' may I suggest that if you have lots of group bookings that you stagger the times rather than having everyone in together and get some more staff who actually want to be there. The "could not care less" attitude we received was unacceptable, you would think us being local people a little bit more consideration would have been shown. They obviously rely on the tourists and people camping in the grounds to make their money but seeing as they probably would not return year after year it doesn't matter if the food is bad. I will not be returning to this pub and would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

very overpriced for less than average food. such a dissapointment--- so much on the menu that they cant posibly make anything freshly to order-- in fact most things seem to come out of a freezer bag then into the fryer!! fine for cheap and cheerful but thi is NOT cheap. £6 for 2 samosas....£6 for 3 deep fried prawns...all simalar to something you can get in iceland!!!!! who would pay £12 for a small bit of reformed fish and chips ?? much too pricy for deep fried stuff

Were recommended by the owners of Stokewood Barn in Rodney Stoke to visit this restaurant.

It has a great atmosphere, friendly service, reasonable prices and very cosy feel to it.

Would recommend to anyone!

Visited this restaurant as we were staying nearby at Tor Farm B & B. The food is absolutely excellent. Tasty, good sized portions and a good selection of todays specials from the blackboard to compliment the main menu.

Very good value for money, together with very attentive staff.

Noticed the restaurant as it looks attractive from the outside with large hanging baskets and a lot of cars in the carpark - always a good sign!
