With 6 weeks of travel throughout Ireland, England, and Scotland the Cowstall was 100% top of our list! This lovely and relaxing, quiet country location - which, btw is only a quick train ride up to London - was thoughtfully and exceptionally well appointed with top drawer furniture, kitchen supplies and bedding. Not to mention a lovely welcome basket of treats and cream for the coffee etc. I'm not sure if it was the magnificent view of the flowers on the patio and the sheep in the nearby pasture or just the warm & welcoming grace of our host, Jan, that put this visit over the top for us, but one thing is for sure we would come back again & again.
I have stayed in the Barton Annexe (1 bed) and the Cow shed (2 bed). Both of these places are extraordinary!
I’ve stayed on several occasions over the last few months and I have never been disappointed in the slightest.
Each time I stay, I am greeted with fresh milk, biscuits, fresh fruit and everything I need. I could not ask for more.
Jan and Paul are incredibly lovely people, and I must say I’m delighted I found this hidden gem in such a stunning location.
Highly recommended!!!
I enjoyed staying at the Cow Shed very much. It's clean, quiet, very up to date and comfortable with a beautiful patio and an area where kids can play. It's convenient to many of the local sites. Jan is a friendly and helpful host. You won't be disappointed!
The Old Cowstall is located in a picturesque village near Glastonbury. It is a quiet location within easy reach of many major attractions. We booked for two nights and the main purpose of our stay was to visit relatives but we managed to squeeze in some sight-seeing to the pretty and historic city of Wells and a rather steep but exhilarating climb up Glastonbury Tor where the views were stunning.
The Cowstall was surprisingly light and spacious with an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge and two good sized bedrooms, It also had a state of the art wet room. It was tastefully decorated and everything was very clean and tidy. It was equipped to a high standard. All of the rooms overlooked a neat patio area with a raised flower bed and extensive grassed area beyond.
Jan and Paul came to meet us on our arrival and departure and were very approachable and helpful throughout our stay. They left us a welcome pack of delicious cookies and a bowl of fruit. The vase of fresh flowers was also a nice touch. I would be happy to recommend this property to family and friends and we may well book it again in the future.

We booked this holiday let at short notice and could have not been happier. We were met and shown round by Jan who is a great host, showing us round the property and making sure we were happy with everything. The property is at a very high standard, lovely garden area, comfortable beds and the bathroom is exceptional. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and privacy was excellent. Location is perfect, with Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge and a number of attraction not too far away. If we are in the area we will definitely stay here again. Thanks again Jan for a wonderful stay.
