“A wonderful B&B!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

A wonderful B&B - cosy house, tasteful bedroom, comfortable bed, SUPER breakfast (it just kept coming and coming!), really good value for money and a lovely 'landlady' to-boot. The house is situated in a very quiet street, but in a central location, three minute's walk to the main high street. We spend a lot of my time away and staying in B&Bs and hotels for both business and pleasure, and we can tell you this is without doubt one of the very best B&Bs we have used. We also plan to return - especially for pleasure. What more can we say. Stay elsewhere at your peril!!!

Room Tip: We had the double room upstairs - a lovely room with lots of floor space and the window faces to the...

As a seasoned traveler one of the things I enjoy most about guest house B&B is the opportunity to enjoy an insider experience. Apple is centrally located and the proprietors tend to every detail for a most comfortable and relaxing stay. The rooms are attractive and impeccably clean and the food on offer is absolutely delicious. What I find particularly appealing is the warm and friendly atmosphere here and the gracious hospitality I received from such accommodating and knowledgeable hosts. The next time I am in the area I will definitely book a stay at Apple and it will be like visiting old friends.

Recently stayed at Apple for the second time, a recommendation in itself. The B&B is well located with just a short walk of the main street and local attractions like the Tor, Abbey and Chalice Well. Julia is a wonderful host who has works very hard to accommodate all her guests and their needs, in my case an awkward diet for which she made me special bread by hand. Julia is also very flexible, accommodating and has a great knowledge about the area. The rooms are clean and spacious (I have stayed in the twin and double rooms on different occasions) and comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay at Apple for anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly break.

I am astonished at the Rotten Apples review. I stayed at Apple at the same time as the reviewers and ate breakfast with them but think we must have been in a different time space continuum. The owners could not have been more helpful given we arrived at short notice for a family emergency. The room was clean and warm with nice touches like guidebooks, a robe, a separate bath mat for each of us, tea and coffee facilities and a chocolate. The bed was comfy and although there was a little noise from the people downstairs, no more than you would expect in an old house. The bathroom was spotlessly clean which is always important in a shared facility with beautiful shower gel (and not a tiny hotel portion but a generous bottle).
Breakfast was served in a light and airy conservatory with creamy porridge, generous portions of fresh fruit, freshly baked bread and home made conserves. Julia was incredibly attentive and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We slightly overpaid and Julia immediately called and then ran out to meet my sister to pay back the overcharge.

I am shocked at the review below as it seems so far from what I observed. Yes, one of the guests had a chesty cough but at the time said they had arrived with that since they had come from living in a warm climate to November England. They did say they were cold and Julia offered them more blankets for their beds and asked them to let her know what else she could do. Visitors, please do not be put off by this review, the establishment clearly did not suit the negative reviewers needs or expectations but it was not for want of effort by the owners to make their stay comfortable.

Thank you, Julia, for a great stay, you'll be top of our recommended list for Glastonbury

The B&B was centrally located, well within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. The rooms were spacious and well lit, clean and comfortable. Julia is a fantastic host who gave us great information and directions for the area. She was also very flexible, as we arrived pretty late the first night, and we decided to stay an extra night; neither was a problem. Street parking was easy to find.

The was the best B&B we've ever stayed in. Right from the organisation stage Julia was helpful, giving us tips on which route to take to get there, and her attention to the little things, like asking for both of our names so that she could welcome us both on arrival, made the stay feel like a home from home. It's really handy for exploring the town and its surroundings - about a two minute walk from the High Street.

Our room was beautiful - clean and comfortable with everything that we might need, including lots of helpful information about Glastonbury and its surrounding. Julia even did us a map with places of interest and recommended eateries to help us make the most of our weekend.

The breakfast deserves a review all of its own - it was absolutely amazing. Homemade bread (the remainder of which Julia let us take home on our last day!), fruit from the garden and organic spreads and jams, along with beautiful porridge and teacakes, crumpets, croissants - all you can eat and it was a hundred times nicer than your average Full English! We had an early start as there was lots we wanted to do but ended up lingering over the great breakfast and in conversation with Julia - she was friendly and happy to talk - we felt more like guests than paying customers.

Apple is an excellent B&B, a true home from home made even more so by the caring and welcoming attitude of the hostess. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who goes anywhere near Glastonbury!
