If you're in Glastonbury it is definitely worth the hike up the hill.. it takes about 10 minutes to walk up, and not far on foot from the main centre either. Was stupidly windy the day we went, but still amazing views.

Splendid views from the Tor, where we struggled manfully up a massively steep slope to see. It takes massive effort to get there, and is only worth it for the view. Weather is often incredibly bad outside of high summer, and Fri Mar 21 no exception to that rule. We were batterd by 40 mile per hr gusts whilst turning this way and that and attempting to stay warm enough to undertake the journey down the steep slope.

a 3.5k walk or thereabouts and quite high. This is a must do walk as some amazing views when you get to the top. Very close to town centre.

Bit of a climb up to the top, but well worth it. Stunning views - and the weather wasn't the best but still lots to see. Nice, fresh air - a bit windy so wrap up!! St Michael's Tower is worth seeing too. There are benches to sit on, or rest on, on the way up.

There is not "a lot" (as in it is just one structure) to see once you make the demanding climb to the top of the hill, but what you do see while there is an imposing, impressive sight. And the view of Glastonbury and the surrounding areas you get is absolutely wonderful.

Add in the fact that it usually cold and windy when you finally reach The Tor, and you have all the ingredients for a rather sublime experience right out of a Gothic novel, which quite frankly is what I always associate with The Tor even it has never figured in such a novel.

Never has the hollowed out skeleton of one building offered such a prospect. This is a must see if you are ever town.
