Glastonbury Tor is quite a site from any angle. As you get closer it gets better and better but you need to be fit.I nicknamed it Heart Attack hill. My heart rate went through the roof. Make use of the seats on the way up and take your time. The climb is steep and the steps get narrow and slippery in places. Parking is another issue, or should I say lack of. We parked in the factory shop car park just down the road. We were also very lucky with the weather, clear blue skies but a wind raging took our breath away. Well worth a visit.

Short and easy climb to give you amazing views of the Somerset Downs. You may even find a beautiful woman at the top playing a pan Drum. Works for me!!

Beautiful and mysterious place! If you want to enjoy all day outdoors would recommend to go on Glastonbury Tor. 5 and 7 years old enjoyed the day out.

It would be interesting to know just how many do the climb of Glastonbury Tor in year. Well you can add two more. Walking from the town I would guess it's about an hour round trip, but of course depends how long is spent at the top. Although fairly steep in places it is stepped and if taken steady is fine. The views from the top are ,not surprisingly, amazing in all directions.

I had a fantastic evening climbing up the Tor with the wind gusting and threatening while the sun was dipping into its pastel paintbox. it was an evening to be cherished. Hope your climb will be as magical.

We happened to be staying locally and hit it at the right time as the sun went down on a beautiful autumn evening. Well worth the climb up as we could see all the way to the coast- absolutely stunning!!

Blowing out of my @rse when I got to the top of Glastonbury Tor today (asthmatic with one lung doesn't help), what a view though and the town itself is a rare but nice experience of colourful hippies and paganism with a strong waft of joss sticks and funny fags in the air. Could do with some sort of parking but I understand the need to keep it non-commercial in that sense. Well worth the effort though.

What’s not to like? Well worth a walk up. The path is decent, route dotted with sheep with the reward of beautiful views one up there. Splendid.

We took our 5 kids (age between 6 and 13) they loved climbing the mountain (as the kids called it) to get the the magical church at the top and the wonderful views! I’d definitely love to go back to this place especially at night as the sky would be amazing
