“Great day out.”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

We had a brilliant time at Glastonbury. Visited both the Tor and the Abbey. We went to the Tor on the minibus - The Tor Bus - which left from a car park in the town centre. This cost £3 each and was perfect as we didn't want to spend too long at the Tor so it cut down walking to the top to about 20 mins. We chose a great day to visit and the views from the top of the Tor were astounding, well worth it.
We were glad we had visited the Abbey first as the very informative tour there gave us a real sense of the area and importance of the Tor and Abbey to people in the past.
A great experience but definitely weather dependent, not advised on a very windy or misty day.

“Special place”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

A natural, delightful, spiritual, great place to visit, enjoyed by visitors from all over the world. Appealing to so many different travellers, from those who enjoy the history to those who enjoy walking, taking in the brilliant views of Somerset.

“SOMERSET ICON”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Probably one of the most photographed places in the county!
Holds a special attraction though simply because sue it is so dramatic set against the surrounding flat countryside.
Its a fair old climb so you do need to be reasonably fit but well worth it.
I'm a regular visitor as I like to capture the differing views with the seasons etc.

“Take your imagination with you”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Given its iconic status, quite honestly, there isn't much to it. The rather ordinary church tower is a bit jarring if you've come for the pagan associations. Once you've got to the top, there isn't anything particular to see apart from an admittedly impressive view while your ears go numb in the wind. Better get back down into town sharpish, and find the really interesting stuff in one of Glastonbury's many alternative bookshops.
