Climb only if you are fit and able. Worth the effort to see the views of the surrounding countryside. Negative point is lack of parking nearby.

The walk up to the top of the Tor is essential for anyone contemplating a visit to Glastonbury, so much history abounds and envelops the visitor. A steep walk but manageable. The bench half-way up the Tor was broken but the grass sufficed for rest stops along the way.

I go to Glastonbury often and every time I visit I simply have to go the Tor. It's not just good exercise, as others have said, the view is beautiful and really gives you a good idea of how England used to look. I never fail to feel a connection to nature or Glasto.

How could you visit Glastonbury and not stop by The Tor? The iconic hill and monument are just as impressive up close as they are from below, and the view from the summit is just breathtaking. We hiked up the back way, which took us a while and really wore us out. I think there is an easier way up the front. Also, don't forget to pack a sweater! Even though we visited The Tor in the Summer, the wind atop the hill can really chill you!

Always a good day out in Glastonbury and a hike up the Tor is a must, just take it at your own pace, when you get to the top on a clear day you can see three counties, Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset
