Description: Do you remember how good Fish & Chips used to taste? Well they still do - here! The same family has been serving Fish & Chips in this shop since 1909 - It is a Somerst Institution! AND you can have Wine, Beer or Cider with your Chips as they have a licence, AND you can sit down and eat it there in the shop, as its also a waited service restaurant! (booking highly advised for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays!) We are probably the oldest established fish and chip restaurant in the UK that has remained in the family through out its existence, as well as being the oldest established business in Glastonbury. We have the finest quality cod, haddock and plaice available, delivered daily from British ports, not to mention tons of Cambridgeshire potatoes prepared on site throughtout the year. Apart from our takeaway section, we have a maximum seating capacity of 82, including 12 in our courtyard area. We are also noted for our home-made fish cakes prepared on the premises every day. For the carnivore, pork faggots which are made especially for us by a local butcher. We have sausages and a selection of pasties and pies by a renowned producer, and a selection of chicken choices - Stacking Burgers, Jacket Potatoes and various Meat free options. We have a massive Restaurant menu that has various best sellers, lighter meals, kids choices, sharers, starters and lots of extras! We have a drinks licence and offer a modest selection of favourite wines, draught and bottled beers and local ciders such as Wilkins farmhouse cider & Hecks farmhouse cider.

Who can resist some chips, open, lots of S & V, on a good night after some beer??? We couldnt, and this place was pretty much next door to the lovely pub we sat outside. Good service and freshly fried, good honest simple food at its best. Excellent!!

Having read many other positive reviews, my wife and myself ate here on two occasions in our five day visit. Both meals were superb (we had plaice for one meal and scampi for the other) and the staff were warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Cod n chips twice with bread n butter.
You won't be disappointed in this place; it really IS top notch!
Beautiful fish, great chips and real bread n butter-not tasteless doughy bread.
Value and service second to none in Glastonbury. Glorious!

This is a good fish&chip takeaway and restaurant anyway, and the extra attraction for me is the concealed bonus of their stocking Roger Wilkins' excellent cider. This is a very tasty local drink made at Mr Wilkins' farm at nearby Mudgely, in sight of the Tor. For some reason - perhaps self-protection from those unused to real cider - Knights do not advertise this at all, but the barrel is there tucked away in the corner.

Back to the food - my fish has always been tasty and well-cooked, but I've never eaten here at very busy times.

In the tradition of fish & chip shops, they are not strong on vegetarian alternatives, which does not seem good commercial judgement as it means they miss out on custom from groups & families which include a vegetarian, and Glastonbury gets a lot of vegetarian visitors.

Granted it was busy, but... Nothing annoys me more than seeing customers arrive after us and then get served before us. Fish and chips distinctly average. Can't think why it's an award winner
