The staff were very friendly and made us wellcome. The small garden area where we sat was very peaceful. Look for a door that leads nowhere but has a cat-flap! We were quite amused.

Stopped here for lunch after a walk to Bat's Castle. Thirsty and tired we needed a good cuppa and some hearty food. Loved the cheese scones and the soup was excellent. Will be back next time we're in the area.

We stopped here for lunch as we saw the gluten free sign out the front. The cafe was busy when we arrived but there were two free tables which we grabbed. The gluten free menu was extensive which was delightful and our party had a variety of meals and sandwiches all of which were delicious and beautifully presented. The service was efficient and welcoming and we would definitely recommend this cafe and will certainly visit again.

We called here for lunch, having eaten here before and enjoyed it. We were not disappointed with this visit either - far from it.

My partner had the Ploughman's lunch, which (as ever) he loved - masses of cheese, grapes, apples, apricot and ginger chutney and home-made bread. I went for the tomato, butter bean and pesto soup, which was fabulous - really tasty, good balance of tomato with an noticeable undertone of pesto which, while it was there, did not dominate. I was expecting the soup to be a bit more chunky - it would have been nice with some whole butter beans in, but this is just a minor quibble.

What really made it for me was the home-made soda bread. It was very dark, quite malty, and packed with seeds and nuts, including pumpkin seeds which I do not normally like, but which were just perfect here. Has to be one of the best breads I have ever eaten.

The menu is fairly limited, and we have tended to stick to lighter bites rather than pies and the small selection of hot meals that the owners provide. We still recommend it, because the meals are fresh, tasty and produced to order and so clearly not mass catering. Although perhaps a little more expensive, we feel that they are also good value because they are higher quaility than many places around.

We will be back for a cream tea later in the year!

This is a little gem of a place, and we will certainly be back.

Called in for a cream tea, which was superb, choice of fruit or plain scones, which were large and fresh, plenty of jam and cream- we had some left over which is a change! Good choice of cakes and slices and also gluten free options. Staff obliging, everything nicely served. Only disappointment was the toilet which is outside and like some other establishments in the town, it is also a store room, but it was clean.
