“Clean, Comfortable, Cozy, Full of Character!”
Reviewed October 9, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We spent 3 days in this beautiful old cottage in Dunster. I couldn't get over how a very old cottage full of such character could be so warm, cozy and clean! Far larger than expected too. Not a spider's web even! Modern kitchen and bathrooms, comfy beds, posh bed linen etc and the most glorious garden. For future visitors, young and old - try to find the pig in the garden!

Many thanks for your review, we are so glad you had a great time as we love it in Dunster.
(Pleased that you didn't spot cobwebs as we certainly can't guarantee it is always that way, with it being such an old cottage, it does have a few nooks and crannies!)

“Comfortable, well-equiped cottage in fine location.”
Reviewed August 29, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Good sized cottage for my family (husband, myself and two children, 8 &11 years). Well equiped kitchen, tv facilities, and plenty of hot water. Cottage had a "nice," feel to it, with good quality furnishings.
Parking was a bit difficult, but this was probably due to the fact that we travelled in high holiday season, and the cottage is situated in a central location in Dunster.

“Super stay at this lovely old cottage”

Just returned from a long weekend stay at Damson Cottage, ideal location for exploring Dunster and Exmoor. This cottage was perfect, such character being an old cottage yet has all modern amenities. Although our stay was one of the coldest weekends the wood burner was a welcome feature, plus very efficient heating and boiler. The owner has provided all necessary items, down to sewing kit and plasters!!. Lots of board games, books for both adults and children. A well equipped kitchen if self catering or if you prefer to eat out, the Stagshead pub is only a few doors down from this property, which serve lovely meals and welcome dogs, providing you give them prior notice. Hope to return again to this lovely cottage.

“Perfect location for exploring the Brendon Hills”

We were looking for accommodation in Dunster for a mountain biking weekend exploring the Brendon Hills and Exmoor. Damson Cottage was a great find with all the facilities we wanted with room for a fair sized group with all their biking clutter. The bedrooms are well furnished and beds were comfortable - essential but not always the case! The large living room was perfect for post-ride, pre-pub lounging and the bright, well equipped kitchen made easy work of the ample cooked breakfasts required for long days in the saddle.

Dunster itself is a bit on the twee side but has plenty of pubs and places to eat - but no ATM! It's a beautiful spot and makes a great base for exploring the area.

Liked best: Great location and good facilities
Liked least: Parking is tricky in Dunster, but that's not the cottage's fault!

“Beautiful cottage in a lovely location!”

We stayed for five nights in August and had a very comfortable stay at Damson Cottage. It is very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It has a lovely, long garden and plenty of room inside. The cottage is located in the medieval village of Dunster, which is a quiet village with a good selection of restaurants and pubs, with the local shops definitely worth a visit! Dunster is also well located for visiting other parts of Somerset and Devon.
We had a lovely stay and would consider returning in the future!

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you had some problems with your stay. We do provide instructions for the central heating and I have checked that the downstairs bath is working ok. If some of the cleaning in the kitchen was not up to standard on this occasion, I can only apologise.
