Old Priory at Dunster
Ranked #9 of 10 Dunster B&B and Inns
Reviewed December 28, 2008

My two sisters and I stayed at the Old Priory as part of our week-long walking holiday booked through Footpath Holidays. I think the Old Priory is not their usual spot in Dunster, but I'm very glad we were there, because it was wonderful! Jane was very welcoming, and went out of her way to help us with details such as food for our hikes. The breakfasts were gorgeous, and delicious, and it was always fun to chat with the other guests.

I loved the dogs, and the rooms, and the town of Dunster. One night we got to go see the ringing of the bells at the church, and the other nights we went to one of the pubs in town. It was a great trip!

Dunster is a fabulous little town - it has everything you could possibly want. From great restaurants to a castle, and The Old Priory is truly a jewel in its crown.

We were shown to our room by the lovely Jane - a fantastic four-poster in a huge room complete with massive bathroom to match. It was wood-panelled with quirky corners and wonky floorboards and incredibly welcoming, in addition to having a view of the garden.

Jane is the perfect hostess, as are her three canine companions - Hector, Horace and Eeyore - and her garden is beautiful too - a testament to the hours she spends tending to it. When I booked, she immediately gave me restaurant recommendations which were both excellent.
