“Fantastic for walks and views”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

If you like walking, this is one of the places for you.

With great views across to Wales in places, and stunning Mendip countryside it's great for family, dogs or a romantic walk

“A great place to walk”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

An attractive combe where you will find the original Rock of Ages. Nice to drive through or to walk in. There are lots of footpaths but it is best to have a map.

“A more Natural Gorge!”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Again, I frequently see this. But it is a beautiful Gorge to drive or walk up. Just above the Restaurant, on the righ side, is the cleft in the rock (marked by a plaque) where the padre who was moved to write the Hymn "Rock of Ages" is said to have sheltered when he had the inspiration foir the hymnn. You can also see wild "stone age" sheep roaming here - as in Cheddar Gorge (not far away). But also, as in Cheddar Gorge, do take care driving the narrow, twisting roads with some very sharp bends! Best not to hurry either of them!

“Unspoiled”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Not so easy to find and (no doubt consequently) not so well-frequented as Cheddar Gorge -- get out of the car!!: Splendid views over the countyryside from the top. Your only companions are likely to be a few hikers on their way, and birds overhead. Lungfuls of refreshing air and eyefuls of inspirational scenery.
