Lovely home from home, everything we needed to have a relaxing break. Accommodation was clean & really well equipped, we had a great welcome from Charlotte and Nigel including a freshly baked cake! The view from the living room was lovely, of both Nigel's garden & the hills beyond. We did a walk from the info book (8a) which took us up Chedder gorge & gave amazing views of the Mendip Hills. The visit to Wells cathedral & Bishops palace was lovely too. We would highly recommend The Byre.

Located in the delightful Draycott a stones throw form Cheddar and conveniently located close to Bristol and Bath this is a fantastic village in hart of Somerset.
The property is in pristine condition will a full kitchen (including modern stove, oven, dishwasher, plenty of cutlery, pots, pans and oven trays) well-appointed bathroom and a very comfortable king size bed. Other features include a wood heater good size TV, DVD player, stereo and a washing machine.
Charlotte and Nigel are delightful host and we even had a tasty cake waiting for us.
I cannot faulty the Byre it was just lovely.

“excellent stay, just delightful”
Reviewed March 22, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We had an excellent stay at The Byre, It was modern, clean, well fitted out and situated in an ideal area for walking and sightseeing. Nigel and Charlotte were very welcoming and everything possible was catered for. We visited Cheddar Gorge, Weston super mare, Minehead, all along the coast, Dunster Castle, Wookey Hole, and on Saturday after a tip from Charlotte we went to the market in Wells which was excellent and a wedding in the cathedral too!! We would definately recommend The Byre without any hesitation, Thank you for a great stay

“Had a great time - very relaxed place”
Reviewed November 17, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Nigel and Charlotte very helpful, accommodation very well decorated and equipped. Great base for walking or cycling as between Levels and Mendip Hills - Nigel has put lots of walks in the info file. Nigel's photos are beautiful and inspired us to get out on the hills. Bed great, bathroom, kitchen spacious and well equipped, comfy lounge with logburner, access to garden with views. We will be back.

“Fantastic Stay”
Reviewed September 9, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This was our third visit to The Byre and as always the reception was second to none, with Charlotte and Nigel going that extra mile to make our stay a memorable one. The home baked lemon sponge cake was delicious and a nice personal touch. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone thinking of visiting Somerset. A+++++

“Lovely place that we would recommend.”
Reviewed September 5, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Byre. Charlotte welcomed us and gave us valuable local insight. The building was perfect for us and we were able to use it as a base for adventures out but also a night in as the kitchen had everything we needed. We would most certainly recommend this place to others.

“Well rested in a beautifull environment”
Reviewed August 10, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

After a few days of hectic London we were excited to stay in this beautiful cottage. It's even bigger then it looks in the pictures. We loved the information folder which contains tips for restaurants, pubs and different walks in the area. We took the walk from the cottage through Cheddar Gorge and over the Mendips. Charlotte and Nigel made sure everything was thought of; coffee, tea, even sandwich bags and a great homemade cake! There is also a collection of books and DVDs available. When the sun was shining we could sit on the deck in the beautiful garden. It's a short trip to visit Bath, Wells and Glastonbury which we loved to visit. All in all we loved everything and would like to come back one day.
