Chedwell Cottage was beautiful, we wish we could have stayed longer. we had a warm and friendly welcome and was made to feel at home. Our room and bathroom was immaculate and had everything we needed. Our table laid for breakfast was lovely, We had fresh juices, cereals, yoghurts & fruit salad to help ourselves aswell as a cooked breakfast which was delicious and kept us going for our long walks along cheddar gorge. If you are looking to stay in cheddar then chedwell cottage is a must. Sue,Malcolm & their daughter are top hosts and made us feel so at home,Also if you are an animal lover you will love their dog tanzy and their cat milly :) we had an amazing time and would love to go and stay again

We've just spent a lovely weekend at Chedwell Cottage. On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Sue and Malcolm and Sue provided us with a pot of tea in the relaxing sitting room which was very much appreciated. Sue & Malcolm were unable to be there during our stay due to personal committments but their daughter Hannah took over the reigns and she was faultless and very friendly.- the breakfasts she cooked were absolutely delicious and the array of cereals/fruits/juices etc were excellent (especially the Museli) and nothing was too much trouble, We wished we were staying for longer and we would definately return here to stay if we were visiting the area again.

Thank Goodness for Chedwell cottage, we arrived in Cheddar on a whim as our travel plans changed, therefore we had no booking. We were turned away at one place and told the visitors centre no longer opperated, we were counting on them to book us in somewhere. Kindly the manager at the hotel in town pointed us in the direction of Chedwell cottage. This small B&B is in a quiet back street. The room we were offered was quite large, a family suite with a queen bed and a single, self contained with a very small but functional shower room and WC. Tea and coffee making is include which ALWAYS gives extra points from me. LOVE my coffee on arrival after a days driving.HOWEVER breakfast is the real stand out here. Home baked fresh bread straight from the oven, delicious bacon and sausages and a choice of either duck, chicken or guinea fowl eggs. Fresh berries and yoghurt to top it all off. The service and friendliness of the staff was much appreciated too. This is a real Gem in the gorgeous village of Cheddar, I only wish we could have stayed two nights.

Room Tip: The family suite is quite roomy and faces the quiet lane on which this B & B is set

I stayed at Chedwell Cottage for two weeks in January/February and Sue, Malcolm, Anna, Tanzy made me most welcome. This is a cottage, not a big five star hotel so you don’t get swimming pool and tennis courts. What you get is the homely feel of nicely decorated place/comfortable rooms close to the centre of Cheddar. You also get Sue’s mighty breakfast in the morning that will set you up for the day. When I had to stay in Cheddar again in April/May, there was no option but Chedwell Cottage. By this time, I had developed some habits just like one does at home. Now that I do not have to go to Cheddar anymore, I will go back for no other reason than staying there, with Sue, Malcolm, Anna and Tanzy who are truly special and make the place what it is: By far, the best B&B I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: There are not that many rooms. They are all great any way. As for my favourite, I'll keep it to...

We booked after finding this B&B on trip advisor, we stayed for 3 nights. I will be honest i didnt think a b&b could actually be this good. Sue and Malcom are very welcoming , there was four of us staying , so we had two rooms , both of which were furnished well and very comfortable, excellent Tea and coffee making faclities made even more special by the extra touch of fresh milk left outside the door the night before in a flask . The breakfast was amazing with fresh friut , juices, cereals plus a full english, with a choice of chicken or duck eggs cooked to your liking .
Sue was very helpful in advising on the local amenities and a big thanks for recommending the Pub quiz although we had no chance!!!
The B&B is a short walk to the village where you have all the tourist attractions . Eating out is not so good with little choice , process of elimination we ate in the White Hart the food was wonderful and fresh and we ate in the Chedder cottage curry house ( twice !) Superb ! . I would strongly recommend this B&B , we loved it.
