“Great lunch”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Once again Frank and Sue did us a great job. The set lunch menu may not be huge but it is great value and Frank might be persuaded(?) to offer a la carte choices - two of us had the venison and it was excellent. All three of us had a lovely lunch with some excellent wine from the wide range on offer and were made to feel very welcome. We'll be back!

“Sunday lunch in Cheddar”
Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

Awesome Sunday lunch at Franks!
Franks restaurant is now open for Sunday lunches. We went for the 2 course option (had intended 3 courses but the main course was so filling we were blown out despite a very tempting dessert menu, which never fails to deliver). As always the welcome is friendly and professional, there is an excellent wine list, and you should not be under the misperception that Franks is expensive. The 2 course was around £17/head, and the roast rump of beef was stunning. If you are holidaying in Cheddar then check out the weekday lunches which offer great food at incredible prices, and the Sunday lunch which was joyous. We will definitely be booking up again. Bravo to this great independent restaurant.

“Great food”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

First weeekend away in the caravan this year, checked tripadisor for restaurants and came up with Franks, It's rated as No2 of 17 in Cheddar but that must be wrong. The welcome was warm and genuine, the service was timed to perfection, the food was fresh, cooked perfectly and well presented. The wine was aereated as it was decanted not something you see often now and reasonably priced.

“Our favourite place to go”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

My partner introduced Franks Restaurant to me on one of our first dates back in September 2011. Since then it has become our favourite restaurant and we have re-visited countless times for special occasions; the reason being we are never disappointed. Frank and Sue are friendly, welcoming and they really go the extra mile to make sure you're enjoying your evening. The food is beautifully presented and tastes divine, with an excellent selection of wines too. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic evening meal then Franks is the place to go, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. I'm sure we will continue to visit for many years to come.

“Fantastic food and lovely people”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

Been going to Franks for several years after a recommendation. This is a small restaurant with about ten tables, a good choice of wines and a menu that changes regularly using seasonal produce. The fish choice is particularly good, often caught that day and always very tasty with a nice sauce. Another favourite is the duck, which never disappoints.

The choice of veg is also great and everything is always piping hot and delivered with a smile.

We have taken many friends their over the years and they always love it too. Its not a pub grub type of restaurant with nice clean white tablecloths it works well for birthdays and anniversaries or just a treat now and again.

Try it for yourself!
