Description: If the name of this restaurant alone isn't enough to make you want to dine here, then we'll eat our Dhaka topi hats. However, in case you need any further incentive – we're delighted to say that this super-cosy establishment is superb. With whitewashed walls and brightly coloured hand-woven cushions, the Nepalese dining room at Yak Yeti Yak in Bath is warm, peaceful, and popular with a fresh-faced crowd who look like they climb mountains just for fun. While - as far as we can tell - there is no actual yeti on the menu, there are plenty of other star attractions such as the Yak Yeti Yak Beef – spicy beef stir-fried with onions, sweet peppers and tomatoes.

“A Bath classic”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

If you are in Bath come here for a decent meal out. It's not to expensive and it's great what more can we say.

You can sit on the floor or at a table and the atmosphere is just wonderful, you truely feel transported out of England.

I will recommend this place endlessly, and if you go you have to try the cheese ball starters...i'm addicted!

“Nice atmospheric cultural experience”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

The location is in the basement of a building, easy to miss if you're not actively looking out for it. Once inside, the place is somewhat dark, decorated with rustic and ethnic memorabilia and flavoured with burning incense which I felt all added to the atmosphere. I was shown to a small table near the kitchen and the sounds and smells reminded me of visits abroad.

The menu advises that one meat dish (or main course), one rice and one dal is sufficient for one head; two people may wish to order three mains between them. I plumped for the Pork Sag Aloo - pork stew with potatoes and spinach, topped with coriander - and a mixed vegetable fried rice. Service was quite quick, the choices arriving in heated goblet-like brass bowls along and a heated brass plate - all dishware seems comprised of brass, somewhat battered, and the portions weren't particular large but certainly tasty and filling. I found my pork slightly dry and chewy (I would have expected it to have fallen apart more easily) but I enjoyed the meal.

Also had two bottles of traditional lager, which at £3.50 for a 330ml bottle isn't cheap but about the going rate for restaurants. Altogether the entire lot - one meal, one side and two bottled beers came to just under £20.

Although it has no WiFi I would return again for the food and experience, but may go easy on the drinks.

“Excellent food, well worth looking for”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

My wife picked this restaurant for its eclectic Nepalese menu and its clever name. Located below street level, it's a little hard to find, but well worth looking for.

The food was excellent - akin to Afghan or Indian cuisine, but with its own distinct flavor palette. Smaller portions, so you can sample many different items, and mix-n-match with your friends. The kitchen staff will prepare most dishes with as much or as little spicing as you want, so you can be adventurous without fear. And the elderflower julep was wonderful!

Reviewed August 8, 2013

Great food, great service, loved the choice of menu,
only thing i didn't like was the tables were too close together,so you could hear everyones conversation in full detail,
But will defiantly be back and would recommend.
