Description: Tagine Zhor is an authentic Moroccan restaurant run by the Casablancan Moroccan born owner. He takes pride in his Fez cuisine because it is based on traditional recipes that have been passed down from his loving Fez born grandmother "zhor" to him. It is the only finest Moroccan restaurant in Bath and probably in the whole South West of England. The perfect place to experience real Moroccan food cooked and served in a distinctive and traditional manner together with genuine warm hospitality in absolute beautiful Moroccan surroundings. Most meals begin with the simple selection of hot and cold mezze which might include hommos, Olives and Baba Ghannouj served with flat bread. The Tagine may come next served with Cous Cous, rice or Bread. It is a stew made of lamb, Chicken, Fish, Beef, kofta and Basilla. A single plate of dessert will usually consist of baklawas . They are sweet pastries dripping in honey or dusted in icing sugar marks the end of the meal before fresh mint tea or Arabic coffee are served. Do not forget to take a seat on outdoor terrace and enjoy the Shisha pipe and its flavour of tobacco. Also pay a visit to our gem Bazaar Shop downstairs featuring beautiful and unique handmade Moroccan items "great idea for gifts"

While in Bath we were looking for an evening meal and found ourselves around North Parade. My TripAdvisor app located a few restaurants nearby and Café du Globe was listed highly in this area. Having never tried Moroccan food we decided to give it a go and the menu looked appealing.
The recipes were all handed down from the owners grandmother and there is a picture in her honour near the door.
We tried Mezze for a starter and a tagine / chicken dish for the main couses. The Mezze was amazing - a selection of cold tapas size portions with hummus and breads. Delicious!
The main courses were very tasty but very large portions so you need to be hungry.
We would definitely come back to this restaurant next time we are in the area.

We visited Cafe du Globe on a recent girls weekend in Bath. A small restaurant, but they were accommodating and managed to to squeeze us all in!
The atmosphere is great, with decoration and style to match the theme of the restaurant.
The food was delicious, fantastic selection of mezze, and then tagines to share.
Plenty of choices for both vegetarians and meat eaters.
Would definately go again.

My wife and I had spent a day walking around Bath and we were ready for dinner earlier than usual. (We had looked at the Pump Room but decided to try somewhere different.) You can't get more different than a Moroccan restaurant in Bath - and almost in sight of the river and associated gardens. The interior was in a Moroccan style which was appealing to us because it was different from the Jane Austen gentility of some other dining places in Bath. The food and service were good and we would revisit if we feel like Moroccan food when next in Bath. My wife called the restaurant "querky" which I suppose it was. For example, take the labyrinthine route to the loo and you pass through a kind of selling space (bazaar or bizarre?) for Moroccan style knick-knacks. A bit dark to see I thought but manageable to navigate through to the loo without mishap.

Arrived in bath about 3.15pm on a Friday having not eaten since breakfast. Went to the green rocket but they had finished serving food. I'd been to Cafe du Globe a year or so ago & liked it so called in. They were happy to serve us & made the early evening menu available even though it was too early. Two courses & s drink for £15.50. We had the house mixed starter which was well flavoured if a little deep fried (had expected potato skins to be oven cooked). I enjoyed the meatballs & my partner the tagine. The house red wine was surprisingly good. We were provided with a jug of water. We didn't need to eat again that day. The owner has a reserved slightly dour disposition but he is polite, says welcoming things & I heard him give information & menu advice when asked by first time 'Morroccon' diners. We had very good service. He could improve sales by smiling more!
