“Beautiful, bijoux, Bath bolt-hole.”
Reviewed August 7, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We were extremely impressed with this place. The landlady was excellent from the beginning, communicating quickly and efficiently. When we arrived, the landlady and her family had gone away, but they made arrangements for us to stay longer accordingly, since the cottage was empty and ready. This was the first of many details that impressed.

In the fridge were fresh eggs and thick slabs of bacon from the nearest farm--they did not last long, as we scoffed them very quickly! The apartment was clean, beautifully presented with interesting oddments and retro furniture (and a covetable set of plans/map drawers). The kitchen was fantastically well equipped, and included basic condiments, and the widest range of cooking utensils and bits and pieces we have come across in a holiday apartment.

There is a sun trap, large (proportionally), decked courtyard to the rear, and gorgeous bifold doors. The entrance to the property is private, and there is a substantial amount of parking available (shared with the main house and second holiday 'cottage').

On the subject of parking, some form of wheeled transport is essential. Stunning views from a prominent hillside position are the payoff for being a reasonable distance from the city centre. Buses are available in the nearby village, but it's a steep uphill/downhill walk. We used the car and bikes to get about, and used the canal as our main route into town on the latter. It's about a mile and a half from the cottage, then two more miles into town.

There are a couple of minor (unimportant to us) issues to bear in mind. Firstly, the courtyard backs onto a busy A road. This creates some noise. Secondly, this same A road is the road you turn in and out of to leave the property (although you can use a single track road to go towards Bradford on Avon). Turning out onto the A road is extremely treacherous and tricky. One to bear in mind for less confident drivers. On the plus side, this means that the cottage is incredibly well connected, and is easy to use as a base to go out into the local area (Bristol, the Cotswolds, etc.).

All in all, highly recommendable, and we would happily go back in the future. In fact, my in-laws are now actively looking for time to squeeze it in this year!

“Absolutely beautiful!”
Reviewed July 17, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

My other half booked The Garden Apartment as my birthday present, upon booking we were instantly amazed by the exceptionally reasonable prices, so much so i booked us an extra night. Instantly I had a very lovely message from Charlotte, who then kindly answered my 101 questions about Bath and the area as we had never visited before.
When we arrived we couldn't believe we were in the right place, we even had to ring Charlotte to check. We were amazed, with the most beautiful surroundings and then more beautiful apartment. Charlotte and Simon had left us a little welcoming package and so much information that we didn't even need to google anything. Within 30 minutes of arriving Simon came to introduce himself and welcome us in and later that evening Charlotte came with bacon and eggs form the local farm...what more could we want! The whole process was easy from start to finish and we were very reluctant to leave. We will certainly be returning!! Thank you Charlotte and Simon and we will (hopefully) see you next year!!

“Amazing place”
Reviewed July 7, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

This place is realy lovely, Charlotte is very nice and she made us feel very very welcome. Apartment was clean and lovely decorated, kitchen had everything what you can possibly need on your holiday, so you can cook all day long, but I would recomend to go out and enjoy a beautiful countryside.
Charlotte gave us some good tips where to go and what to do, what was very helpfull (and also we could try local bacon and eggs and it was delitious).
I can really recomend this place to everyone :)
Also they do have a family cat called Ollie who is absolutely charming and super cute :)
So we felt in love with this place and we will definetely come back :)

“Relaxing and charming apartment”
Reviewed June 20, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

My wife and I stayed at The Garden Apartment in mid summer. The apartment is well appointed, charming and lovely. We had a great weekend in the relaxed surroundings - the court yard garden was an added bonus and great to enjoy the summer sun in (although a little noisy at times due to road traffic).

We found this a great location to visit Bath from. It was a very short drive away, and easily found.

The owner gave us a warm welcome, and was very accommodating as we were unsure whether we were bringing our 3 year old daughter with us (in the end we didn't). The breakfast items and sweet treats left for us were an additional delight (Thank you Charlotte!)

Would definitely return if ever visiting Bath again!

“Comfortable and Practical”

A great spot in the countryside surrounding Bath with local farm produce to welcome us. Everything we needed for a 5 day stay with a baby in a well designed apartment.

“Beautiful and clean accommodation”
Reviewed October 10, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We only stayed one night but were very impressed by The Garden Apartment. If we had stayed longer it would have been the perfect base from which to explore Bath and the surrounding area. It is beautifully decorated and immaculately presented plus very clean and welcoming. The pretty lighting in the courtyard with the lights of Bath twinkling in the distance reminded me of the south of France and was the icing on the cake. Thank you Charlotte for a short but sweet stay!
