“A Grand Room - A must”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

A visit to the room alone is worth it but best experience sitting down and taking tea and refreshments. They do lovely savouries - cheese crumpets with piccalilli for example as well as cakes and pastries.

“Beautiful setting”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

My husband and I had afternoon tea here on Valentine's Day. There was a short queue on arrival but as we had pre-booked online we could be seated straight away. The room is beautiful and when the pianist was playing (he was sadly on a break for most of our meal) it created a wonderful setting. Sadly, we didn't feel the food was so special but just tasty enough. I was also slightly disappointed in the lack of apparent dress code as it seemed 'anything goes' but I was hoping for such a beautiful setting that the patrons would dress to suit. Some people clearly did smarten up especially (including myself) and looked uncomfortable, which is why I wanted to add a review to make this point. We did enjoy the treat but just felt it missed that little extra something for the price we paid.

There is not enough good to say about this place. It is very special. The service is wonderful, the location is grand. It was a beautiful experience. The food was delicious! The music added to such a spectacular atmosphere. Very highly recommended.

“So civilised, so English”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

As the pianist, or the pump house trio, play luncheon or tea is served with good old fashioned service in wonderful surroundings,
The chandeliers glisten, the 'fish fountain' pouring spa water gurgles quietly and a quiet elegance is all around.
Staff wait as it used to be done and you never feel rushed.
If you are in Bath and want to eat or drink do it here at least once. It is so very worth it.

“Periodic Drama... in 2013”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Such a great lunch, and such a funny yet delightful setting. Came as part of the Visit Bath package, and whilst this is the opposite of what I'd usually go for, I cant recommend it highly enough.
You'll have agrin on your face from the moment you walk in. Great atmosphere, perfect service and the pianist in the background just about completes a great lunch
