“Good food but amazing building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

We were in Bath as my wife and two of my daughters were running in the half marathon. My wife found this place via trip adviser and the food was very good, not the best we have had but very good none the less. The huge dining room is quite somthing and the place is busy so a real buzz and atmospheres! I would certainly book though! The staff do their best and will make a point of smiling and you will get a goodbuy from every single waiter on the way out, however there is still a feeling that your on a conveyor of service. Regardless, its about the food and setting and on that bassis well worth a visit.

“Good value for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

Wandering round Bath we saw this with the numerous recommendations including from the AA and Relais Routiers and thought we would give it a try for lunch. They do a good value 3 course lunch for £8.50 of a starter, main course, rice, naan and then coffee or ice-cream. There is a reasonable selection and the food was all tasty and well prepared, although perhaps a bit too much oil.

Whilst lunch was good value and very enjoyable, we didn't feel that it was exceptional, as the awards suggest.

“Good food at affordable price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

Hi,
We were group of five from India living in UK for few years now.
On a visit to Bath, had lunch at this restaurant. Ambiance of the place was good, staff were polite, above all food was excellent. They have used fresh ingredients and not much oil which we liked. Also found opening times were longer.
Highly recommend it.

“Not bad at all”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013 via mobile

I think this curry house is a little too big to be honest - it must be able to seat 150 covers, with the result that if it is full you wait ages and if not it can seem cavernous and empty. Lal Toofan is on draft (no Cobra or Kingfisher) and the service is fine though not a friendly as some places. Main dish (prawn) was delicious; we had a veggie side which was badly described and bland.

But overall a decent curry - but could be a load better.
