“Service with a smile and the best pudding in the world!”
Reviewed December 14, 2011

The Cross Keys was a warm and welcoming place to spend a cold night. The range of food on offer was spectacular, in particular the range of homemade puddings. We went for the Chocolate and Pear Tart (see picture), which fresh out of the oven was the best pudding I have ever tasted! The staff were very friendly, and with large open fires it was a true joy to eat there.

“Go pub grub”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

We went there this evening as part of a groupon and it was very nice would go back, it's not 4 or 5 star but it is a nice place to go for a meal on a week night. Give it a go very good.

“Nice small pub/restaurant”
Reviewed November 7, 2011

Had a meal with friends. Their's was OK but my duck was tastless
The restaurant area was nice.
We had to walk through the pub area to the toilets which seemed to lack atmosphere.
Be careful with directions via SatNav as we came in from one end of Midford Road which is quite long and it was at the other end.

“Oh gosh....not in a good way”
Reviewed October 31, 2011

Where do I start ? We had a 3 course lunch, It took about 15 mins for someone to notice us, another 15 for someone to come take our orders. We were there 3 hours waiting and waiting for food. I had bread and butter pudding for dessert and oh boy it was the worst bread and butter pudding ever made. It was clearly microwaved. Not enough... a piece of hair (not mine) was found at the bottom of my drink and no we won't be back.

“Not good!”
Reviewed August 22, 2011

Went on our Groupon voucher, really looking forward to a yummy 3 course meal, not so!!
I had belly pork for starters expecting thin slices of lovely crispy pork, no, received a 2 inch chunk of fat that was unable to be cut. Then vegetarian sausage casserole. Absolutely disgusting with veg that tasted as though it had been reheated over and over again, with a scone on top that you could of built a wall with. Pud was fine as it was a chocolate roulade that was obviously bought in and something a chef hadn't made.
Have family in Bristol and are always looking for half way places to meet up, and it definately will not be this pub!.
