“A great stay”

This was the best B&B we've stayed in, and with a better individualised welcome than many 5* hotels/resorts we've stayed in. We arrived earlier than check in & were given a warm, friendly welcome, along with useful information. Our room was lovely - clean, well appointed, with comfortable beds, plenty of space & nice products. Breakfast was freshly cooked, with a wide range of options including vegetarian dishes. The food is locally sourced and good quality. Attention to detail was very good, and we would recommend this B&B to others.

I have just come back from an absolutely faultless stay here, at One Three Nine in Bath.

From the moment you walk in the door, you are made to feel at home – literally like you are in your own home. James & Eliza are the hosts, and combined with their team make this a Bed & Breakfast above all others!
The bedrooms are very well appointed – I had a double room, which was so well appointed – even down to the coffee not being instant but being provided in a cafetiere. The bathroom had a large shower, which was spotless and had a “monsoon” style shower head – the provided toiletries were all Molten Brown, which were perfect. The bathroom featured under-floor heating, which was a really nice touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with the linen being spotless, clean and of good quality – not the typical Premier Inn style “old ripped grey sheets that were once white” sort of thing. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic – good choice of pretty much anything you wanted, all served to you directly. I had a full English, which was great – NO grease on it at all – just perfect. Additionally, this B&B is a genuine 10 minute walk from Bath Train Station, which is right on the City Centre – perfect for exploring all that Bath has to offer – additionally, the B&B had parking for what looked like 10 cars; a real bonus in Bath!
If there was one small thing I’d change it would be that the room did get hotter than the sun at one stage in the night – the air con unit on the wall, which I had left on, seemed to be circulating warm air rather than cooling – however, I am 110% sure if I had told James, or Eliza, then they would have fixed it/moved us rooms etc – my bad for not doing anything about it.
Highly, highly recommended.

Chris

Room Tip: I'm sure all the rooms are just as good as the one I had - which was room 10

Wonderful stay with lots of attention to detail - couldn't ask for better hosts! It was a really comfy room and the hosts allowed us to sit in the drawing room and have drinks and nibbles as we were too tired to go into town. Nothing seemed too much trouble!

Another great stay. Accommodation is well presented, comfortable and stylish. Breakfast is full of options and delicious food. James and Eliza always seem to be available - appearing like the shopkeeper in Mr Benn if you need something e.g a restaurant recommendation or taxi booking and are so helpful but they are never in your face so the B&B has the air of a small friendly boutique hotel. We will be back again in 2014.

I booked the Sunday night away as a surprise for my wife as it was her birthday on the Monday. We arrived early and had planned to just drop the cases and walk into Bath to the Christmas Market,
James greeted us in the hall and offered us a cup of tea or coffee informing us that our room would be ready for us in a few minutes, he asked my wife why we were visiting Bath and she mentioned that it was a Birthday treat. James took our bags and coats up to our room whilst we relaxed with a cup of tea and mince pies.
The room (no 4) was beautiful, warm and cosy with a view across Bath to the hills beyond, on the bed was a Birthday card and box of chocolates for my wife. That was a really thoughtful touch!
James offered us advice for dining in the evening and suggested booking as it was the first weekend of the Christmas Market, we picked "The Firehouse" which was an excellent choice
the ambiance was good and the meal was first class.
The four poster bed gave us both a very comfortable and restful nights sleep and my wife enjoyed the Jacuzzi bath vanishing in all the bubbles!
Breakfast was another treat Eliza offered us both a glass of champagne by way of a Birthday celebration. The breakfast selection was a very extensive range, every taste was catered for, I chose the Scrambled egg with Smoked Salmon which was devine, cooked to perfection my wife had a cooked selection of Bacon Egg & Sausages which she thoroughly enjoyed.
James and Eliza have in my opinion "cracked it" their attention to detail is spot on, well done to you and all your staff, there is not one thing we would change, we will be back!

Room Tip: Room 4 has a great bay window and views across Bath to the hills beyond.

I originally found 139 on Trip Advisor and decided to give them a call because of all the top reviews and the lovely photos of the rooms.

From the very first contact on the phone with James the manager I found all at 139, polite, friendly, helpful and excellent at there jobs.
We had the pleasure of staying at 139 for four nights in two different rooms.
They were as pictured/described, being nicely furnished, with all the mod cons and with comfortable beds and both where clean and fresh.
The rest of 139 was also great, with contemporary and stylish interiors, including the breakfast room.

Parking onsite was a real plus in Bath as we just parked the car for the five days.
And the short walk direct to the centre is very convenient or if your feeling lazy later on in the day...or have loads of shopping...:-)....a lift back in a taxi for two from anywhere in the centre is approx. £5-6.

The breakfasts are delicious with a very wide assortment of continental and cooked food available, all served beautifully fresh and either in the lovely breakfast room as a buffet (but also with table service) or as breakfast-in-bed direct to your room...which is a real treat should you fancy it.

Overall it was a 10 for us across the board, and the team even went the extra mile for my partners birthday and when we got engaged the following day to......real professional service as good as any top hotel but with the warmth and caring you get from a family B and B.....for us it really is the best of both worlds.
We will be returning to Bath and when we do there is only one place we will be staying.....thank you 139, James, Eliza and your amazing team.

Room Tip: All the rooms look lovely, we stayed in two and they were both great.
