We stayed at 139 in September and had a wonderful time. The room was luxurious with a large comfortable bed, slipper bath and separate bathroom. The B&B was busy at the time but the room was very quiet. We know Bath very well but the owner was very considerate in making sure we knew where to go and recommended restaurants and taxis.
The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked.
I would stay here again and again

I booked One Three Nine through Laterooms having also checked out their own website.

My early arrival due to a lunchtime party was not an issue and whilst my room was being checked over, tea was provided in the drawing room. Directions to my party venue were sketched on to a town map and my room swapped so that I could do an early fresh up and be out on time.

The room was excellent with quality furnishings and all round the small additional touches like the complementary internet access in the hall and Dvd library made my stay so enjoyable.

This was then topped off with a superb breakfast, served early to meet my business needs. I am already planning a weekend trip to Bath with my wife next year and we will definitely be staying at One Three Nine.

Wow, what can I say about this Luxury B&B that other reviewers havn't already said.
When we arrived at 139 we were more than just a bit frazzled having got lost for nearly 2 hours driving round Baths one way system, but the moment we walked through that wonderful oversized door all the tension just drained away. James, the owner, made us feel so welcome and relaxed. He took us through to the sitting room & made us a very welcome cup of tea with lovely shortbread while we went through all the formalities of checking in, such a different welcome to the one we received in London. Afterwards he escorted us upstairs to our room insisting that we leave the luggage for him to bring up. What a delightful room no. 10 was - everything was new and wonderful quality but nothing was over the top just beautiful and tasteful right down to the lovely bathrobes supplied (which you could buy if you so wished) and the beautiful toiletries. Everyroom has their own air conditioning unit to set a temperature that is comfortable to them. Oh and the bed was so comfortable. My only minor quibble would be that I would have liked a shelf or something similar in the bathroom to put my own toiletries on while there, seeing as the hand basin was free standing. (I said it was minor)
The staff were so informative and helpful - nothing was too much trouble - I even saw them ordering take away pizza for some guests and when it arrived they paid the delivery guy then took it through to the dining room to serve.
The breakfasts were magnificent & they quite spoilt us for the rest of our trip nothing was quite like the friendliness and service, not to mention the food, that we received at 139. All the guests that we spoke to all said the same thing - that they couldn't quite believe their luck in finding this place.
If you can, go and stay at 139 but if it is full don't despair ask if they have any rooms at their other B&B's, apparently James and his wonderful wife have bought another two so I can quite imagine that they would be the same quality.
We really didn't want to leave 139 and if it was at all possible I would have packed them all up and taken them with me just so I could continue the experience. To all the staff @ 139 thank you so much for a wonderful stay :)

Absolutely amazing. We only stayed for one night and wish we could've stayed for more. Very romantic!
This is the best place we have ever stayed in.

Very friendly staff but not obtrusive. A beautiful room (num 5 - 4 poster bed, jacuzzi bath, molten brown products). The decor in the whole of the house is beautiful, very elegant and sumptuous. Breakfast lovely and served in a very pleasant sunny room.

We really appreciated the details that made our brief stay so special.

After struggling to find a decent hotel in Bath it was with some hesitation that I booked a night at this B&B . How wrong was I ?!?

I've travelled a lot with work stopping in some really classy hotels but I can say I've never had better service or been made to feel more welcome than @ 139. And we had the kids with us ( 7yrs + 2yrs ) .

Room 5 just about held us 4 with me on the sofabed and the little chap in a travel cot ( ours from home ) .

Great decor , wonderful bedding , fantastic bathroom , superb views , warm service ......

As other reviews state the only negative must be the walk back from town , that's some hill carrying an exhausted child and pushing the other one .

Will be returning without the kids to really enjoy the atmosphere .

We had a truly wonderful stay at 139. After reading the reviews we were expecting to climb Everest from the train station, but that was greatly exaggerated - its just like being in any area that has hills ie Earth.

The location is fantastic, less than 10mins to town. But it's the accommodation that is really amazing. You can tell it's been redecorated recently and it looks amazing. We stayed in one of the luxury rooms with a four poster bed, wide-screen TV, DVD player, Jacuzzi and we wished we stayed longer to get more tips on how to make our house better and watch more of their DVDs.

The staff are really helpful and friendly and the only drawback we found was that you could hear your neighbouring bathroom (through your own bathroom) which wasn't great when they decided to have a Jacuzzi at 2am - luckily we had ear-plugs and the consumption of a bottle of champagne in our favour.

Would definitely go back there again - and are planning to. In fact, we might see if they have a clubcard.

Tripadvisor put me on to this property, and the great reviews are not an exaggeration! This B&B is gorgeous, and perfect for a girls' weekend away. I'd had real problems finding a place with 2 twin rooms, but 139 came up trumps.

Plus points: Waffle robes in the wardrobe, a really modern powerful shower. Everything you could want: DVD player, CD player, hairdryer, Molton Brown goodies, fluffy white towels, comfy beds with sumptuous pillows, fragrant candles in the hallway, modern chic decoration - check out the black chandelier pic! Lovely breakfast with lighter options like eggs and salmon. And the owners Peter and Cristalle couldn't have been more helpful, giving us taxi numbers, maps and also sending on my friend's iPod which she'd left behind. It really is excellent value for money.

Minus points: Having to leave! Also the 10 minute walk downhill meant you couldn't pop back that easily. But taxis were only about £4. Also being on the south side of the train tracks meant that we were well away from noisy streets and the late night crowd falling around.

Top Bath tips: Book your meals as early as poss. The Roman Baths history corridor went on _forever_ - skip a bit and hang out outside by the waters themselves for true atmosphere. Gastro pub Gascoyne Place has cool tables upstairs, the real-ale pub The Raven was quirky, the Jane Austen tour on Sunday for a fiver was a steal, abd Thermae Spa is a highly recommended 2 hours of luxurious lounging - especially the rooftop spa. On busy days pop by earlier to get an Access Pass for an hour or so later.
