A group of us visited to experience the interactive glass blowing demonstration. An absorbing 45 minutes or so where we watched the two glass makers create some beautiful objects. The way a bowl or vase emerged from the blob of molten glass was quite magical. Using just wet newspaper to fashion some of the shapes is a sight that has to be seen to be believed. At the end of the demonstration came our turn. Blowing the glass into large bubbles that were incredibly thin and destined to be crumbled in front of our very eyes. For one of us though was the opportunity to blow a bauble. A really nice memento that was engraved with name and date (you have to collect it the next day to allow it time to cool). The workshop also has some interesting displays and the various items for sale. The demo was under £5 a head with an extra charge of £2.50 to try the glass blowing. The bauble was £12 and worth every penny.

Make sure you pick up a leaflet for the hop on hop off bus as there is a 2 for 1 vocuher on the back for the glass blowing demo. The demo lasts about 30 -40 mins. You can blow a bubble for £2.50 or a Bauble for £13 which they etch your name onto. The things in the store are expensive but everything is handmade and well crafted. We made a bauble which is now hanging on our xmas tree and a great souvenir from our trip to bath.

£6 for a glassblowing demo - fascinating and a real skill. You can pay 2.50 to have a go at blowing a bubble, or 12.50 to make your own bauble.

A friendly welcome when entering and a lot of the glass ware was very nice, but I felt it is over priced and sadly ended up leaving without a purchase.
