“Clean and Comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Stayed for 2 nights. Friday and Saturday. Unfortunate not to meet the owner, Maureen, but were taken care of by Elizabeth. Our twin on suite room was very clean and comfortable and had everything that you require. the only downside was because it is at the top of the house the celing sloped on both sides, not too much of a problem for me and my wife being fairly short but could be awkward for six feet plus guests. Breakfast was tasty and tea/coffee and toast were plentiful, as much as you required. The car parking is only suitable for two to three cars but there is on street parking available. Would stay at Marisha's again in the future

We planed to stay there for only one night but ended up staying two because the place was so nice and convenient.
The first night was in the en-suit double room which was clean, specious and well decorated. The second night was in the double bedroom with shared bathroom. Although the bathroom was shared it was fine! Everything was clean and so convenient. The room had an indoor sink so it wasn't nessesary to get out for everything. The host was very nice and friendly and had great tips for touring the city. The breakfast was a bit basic but it didn't spoil anything. The house is located within a 20-30 min. Walk from the city and has a small parking space. We didn't move our car and went by foot to the city. We highly recommend it!

Although I was not instrumental in the booking of this room, having been invited by friends, we were all very pleased to find ourselves warmly welcomed into a spotlessly clean, tastefully-furnished 'home-from-home'. Our hostess was accommodating, cheerful and friendly and the beds were comfortable. Although the room was not en-suite, this gave no problems as the bath-room was more or less 'ours' for our one-night stay and only seconds away. Breakfast in the morning was tasty and more than adequate. The only problem is that if you are without a car, it is a fairly long walk into the city but there is adequate public transport and an infrequent bus which DOES stop within minutes of the guest house, if you are prepared to wait for it. We didn't use the communal areas apart from the charming dining room, but were allowed to leave our backpacks for well after signing-out time on the day of departure while we explored the city, which was an absolute bonus although probably not a regular option if the rooms are all occupied. Tremendous view over the road! We would all definitely recommend this as a 'user-friendly' and peaceful stop-over.

I spent two days at this B&B with my two sisters, all adults, and the overall experience was pleasant. The owner was very welcoming and and the breakfast was plentiful. Despite having booked the family room with three beds, the owner let us use two rooms instead. The only downside of the stay was the family room which smelled as if someone had been smoking in there and despite their best efforts to make it disappear prior to our arrival, it was still abundantly noticeable. As we had to compromise with the smell, the owner gave us a discount on the original rate which was minimally fair. Finally, the location is not very handy if you are not driving - luckily we were - but a taxi to the city centre was only £ 6, so that should not be a deterrent to people using public transport.

A lovely, recently restored, welcoming, converted large family home. Maureen was welcoming and a font of knowledge without being over powering. The room was not en-suite but we were aware of this before hand and the bathroom was only across the hall so not a problem. The room had everything we needed. The house was very warm so the thinner duvet as mentioned by another reviewer meant we had a good night sleep rather than a tropical one! The breakfast was traditional English and of good quality and arrived with a smile.
The guest house is about 1.5 miles from the centre of Bath which is an acceptable distance to walk and you can go via Victoria Park which is a must as you pass the Royal Crescent.
A great place to stay!

Really enjoyed our stay with Maureen at Marishas.Comfy beds and the use of a lounge in the
evening after a hectic day in busy Bath made our day. Maureen was very welcoming and gave
us a lovely breakfast... NO complaints at all..VERY CLEAN..if you read any negative comments well
remember this is a guest house NOT a five star hotel !!!!

We stayed for 2 nights in Marisha's Guest House, Bath. Lovely room, very clean, spacious, en-suite. Very comfortable beds, slept really well. Lovely a warm, beautifully decorated, lovely old house. Maureen was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast yummy. Good value for money, would recommend to friends and would definitely stay again. Taxi to the city centre approx £6, but city also within walking distance.

Bath is an amazing city, one of my favourites. Would recommend the Christmas Markets.. but expect it to be busy!
