“Appearances can be deceiving”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

Don't be put off by the slightly run down outside appearance. The rooms are clean and well decorated. Breakfast was excellent and bar staff very helpful in arranging a taxi to take us to a wedding.I would recommend this hotel for short stays.

I used this hotel for one night as it was close to Bath University , Both of my sons were competing in the Excalibur fencing competition at the university.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Restaurant food was very nice and plentiful, room was freshly decorated and shower was great.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices.

I travelled with my 9 year-old daughter for a weekend at Longleat / Bath. The Radstock was centrally located to both, and although an old building. the rooms are pretty good. 2nd floor have been fully refurbished, while the 1st floor rooms are pending refurb - although tired in decor, they are wonderfully clean - I can't praise the staff enough.

We arrived on Friday afternoon, booked in, dumped our luggage and headed off to Bath. On our return we had what was probably the best pub meal I have had in years.

Sleep could have been better due to road noise, and the bed headboards being a bit loose and thus creaking with every movement. The beds themselves were extremely comfortable though.

Breakfast was cereals, fruit, full British and was delicious.

I'd definately stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are not exactly quiet, due to the hotel being on a main road.

Stayed 2 nights here to visit bath, very welcoming, nice room, breakfast was brilliant (as was the bar food). About 10 miles from bath, easy drive, bus or taxi journey. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Even though we arrived before noon, our room was ready and lovely and clean. Although the pub itself is old, the room was surprisingly modern with a huge shower, comfortable bed and nice fresh decor. We requested a quiet room and weren't disappointed with ours, on the top floor at the end. You probably need the windows closed as there is a lot of traffic noise in the mornings as it is on a main road on a junction. The breakfast was perfect, cereal, juice, full English and as much toast as you can eat!
The hotel is about 8 miles from Bath but the local bus service runs every 15 minutes from down the road, and with the last bus back just before midnight, we were more than happy to leave the car in the hotel carpark for the duration of our stay.
All in all a perfectly adequate hotel for those wanting a comfortable hotel near to Bath without having to pay the expensive rates/parking charges of central Bath.

Room Tip: Rooms at the top are quieter.

This is my second stay here......good standard of room...and en suite.

Ate there 2 nights and food was fine.....beer was good too.

I requested a slightly earlier breakfast and they accommodated me too.
Car park could do with some lighting and the locals seem to rip past in there cars....so a soiled glazing upgrade would be nice

On the whole.....does the job.

We arrived after a long journey and was greeted by the Landlord who welcomed us, we were booked in quickly and told dinner did not need a reservation. The room was light bright and airy, and was very clean. The only thing is the better quality rooms are at the top of the pub on the 2nd floor and could prove rather difficult for some people, so I would let the Landlord know in advance if you have any problems.
The menu provided typical pub grub but of a high standard and very reasonably priced.
Breakfast was excellent and considering the hours the Landlord and his wife put in, they were very warm and friendly in the morning....Well done.
We will certainly recommend this Hotel to people, and will revisit when we are in the area.

Room Tip: We had room 8 and was very happy with our stay in it, the only reason for the slight mark down on sl...
