I stayed here in April with 2 other girls and we enjoyed our stay at Astor House. The ladies who ran the B&B were very helpful and friendly. We requested a fridge for the room as one of us is diabetic and they catered for our needs. The breakfasts were tasty and a good portion. The only negative aspect was that the last sitting was at 9.30, a little difficult when we preferred to sleep in. I guess this is the difference of being at a family run place compared to a hotel.

Also we realised after 2 days that if we did not vacate our room before 11 it would not be cleaned. We then made sure we were out of the room by this time for the rest of our trip but the room wasn't always cleaned. I must add that these are only small niggles and I would definitey stay here again. It just became a bit of an issue as we were 3 girls staying in one room and didn't want to make a fuss as the ladies had been so accommodating and lovely for the duration of our trip.

If you don't mind walking in to the city centre, which take roughly 15 minutes.....I would definitely recommend this place for a family feel.

Stayed in March for three nights, very clean and nicely decorated room with large bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities that where topped up each day. Good breakfast with varied choice served by friendly staff. Would definitely stay if visiting Bath again, there is a 15 min walk to the city centre.

We had a large room, with a separate loo and bathroom. The room was nicely decorated with extra chairs and a table. There was also an iron and ironing board.
Spotlessly clean. The only downside was the bed wasn't that comfortable and as there was plenty of room a Kingsize would have been nice.
Nice choice for breakfast with fruit and cereal out for you help yourself to, followed by a large, nicely cooked English breakfast.
The staff were friendly but not intrusive. It was a bit of a walk in to town, about 20 minutes but still convenient.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which had nice views over the garden

We stayed at Astor House at the end of November, beginning December 2012. It's about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Bath, perfect for the Christmas Market.

Not sure who the owners were as when we arrived we were left a note and instructions on where to find the keys. We looked on the internet to find out when breakfast was as there didn't seem to be anyone around!

The only problem we had was on the first night - an alarm was ringing constantly - all night - which was slightly irritating!!!

The room we had was small but decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

People like to have a moan at everything and some of the previous comments seem a little unfair. My husband, sister and I were in Bath for a wedding and we had room two which was a family room. It was clean and bright and the beds were comfortable, what more could you want. There was plenty of coffee available and biscuits and more if requested. The bathroom was very clean, ok not the hottest place I've been in but I wasn't sleeping in the bathroom, it certainly fitted the bill for what we wanted. The lady who ran the B&B was pleasant and very helpful as were the two girls who helped out at the weekend. The breakfast was good with a nice variety, there was plenty of toast and more if you wanted it. On the Saturday we spent the morning in our room making ourselves presentable for the wedding and the staff couldn't get to do the room that was our choice but they did give us some coffee and biscuits to keep us going. When we arrived back with flowers etc. I was offered a vase so that the flowers stayed fresh, again from the helpful landlady. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bath, we didn't mind the 10 minute walk down to the city, (we timed it) again for those complaining ..... walk a bit faster!!! Thank you for making our trip such a pleasant one, and next time we come to Bath we shall be making our way here. I might also add that the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
