“Enjoyable visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2009

Stayed at Chestnuts House in October 2009.
The bed and breakfast was good although the ground floor room near the breakfast room which we stayed in wasnt quite up to scratch.
Little things like sweet papers down by the side of the bedside cabinet, only one bathrobe, one apple which was going bad, no manicure set or swing kit in the cardboard pouches and the towels which we were trying to keep aired kept getting folded up damp and put on the windowsill. Silly little things but annoying when you've paid a fair amount for the room. Attention to detail needed. Breakfast was good; good amount of choice.
Bath is lovely.
The walk to the town centre was just right.

Yes, the rooms are well appointed and spotless. Yes, the location is excellent -- quiet yet close to the center city. Yes, the breakfasts are extraordinary in options and quality. But what really sets Chestnuts apart is Toni himself, who does everything in his power to make his guests' experience a great one.

Our UK visit, which began in Bath, had a nasty setback when the large car we'd reserved from Alamo blew up before we'd driven halfway round the block from the lot. With no other car available which would accommodate two couples and their overpacked luggage, Toni offered either to keep three of our bags for retrieval a week or so later or to keep them until they were picked up by DHL for delivery to our hotel after we'd dropped the car a week later in Edinburgh. Toni was immensely helpful throughout this complicated arrangement, even going so far as to advance the cash on pickup to pay DHL who'd neglected to tell me until we'd already left Bath and arrived at our next destination that they don't accept non-UK credit cards.

Throughout our stay at Chestnuts (and well beyond our checkout, when he had more than enough to do keeping up with the needs of his subsequent guests) Toni was a model of helpfulness and accommodation, a great host and a great bloke. By the by, his guests will do well to pay close attention to his recommendations of the best pubs in the city.

Found this B and B from the Internet and liked the reviews. The location was brilliant so we were able to leave the car at Chestnuts for our stay and walk everywhere. Tony was the perfect host and made us feel welcome. The breakfasts were excellent and very filling. Both the bedroom and the en suite were spotless and tastefully decorated and warm.

We enjoyed a lovely stay for our one night dash to Bath The welcome was outstanding and warm with a beautiful breakfast of superior quality, the same quality is echoed throughout the bedroom with a comfortable bed and plenty of space; Chestnut House location makes everything in Bath within walking distance. The B&B is very well appointed and clean, just a couple of points to note is the shower is not consistent, burning one moment or freezing cold the next and with no bath mat the bath was slippery, there was also a hole in the bottom sheet! That said though we would definitely go back again.

Me and my parter have just stayed at Chestnuts, I was excited to go because all the reports on here are great and I can see why now. The best bit of staying here is the location, its a 10mins walk if that to the town and its all flat so no big hills to go up or down. There is a nice park just along from the hotel which was really nice and lots to do and see in Bath. If you want a nice B&B clean and cosy and close to town this is the place for you. Nice big rooms with a massive bathroom. Breakfast is great, loads of choice and all very well presented.

Having found this hotel via Trip Advisor, I can only say that everything you have read about this wonderful hotel in other reviews is absolutely true and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A warm welcome from Toni, spotlessly clean ( I am fussy!), light , warm, well decorated and furnished rooms with a good ensuite. Excellent Breakfast service!
Toni was most helpful and friendly and let us use a parking permit on our second day so that we did not have to park in town.
We ate at the Aqua restaurant that Toni recommended and were not disappointed. A little bit pricey, but the food, service and atmosphere were very good.
Do stay here if you are visiting Bath - you wont find better.
