“Perfect location, wonderful host, good value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2014

I stayed here for 2 nights in late November with 3 other family members and we had 2 rooms. It is 2 blocks to the train station so no need for a taxi from there. Very centrally located and within easy walking distance of the town center, spa baths, cathedral, Royal crescent, etc.

Our rooms were on the top floor so there were 2 flights of stairs - no problem for us but good to know for others. The rooms were very comfortable, cozy, newly redecorated and both rooms had lovely views. Very quiet as well. Bathrooms were spotless with lots of hot water. Nice touches like a tea tray with biscuits and blankets were welcome after a day of exploring.

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful - you will not leave here hungry. Liz was a wonderful host, very friendly, and had loads of information/ideas for what you could do while in Bath. She went the extra mile and prior to our arrival, she managed to get us 4 tickets to the first Sunday Advent service at the Bath Cathedral.

We all wished we could have stayed longer with Liz and look forward to returning when we are in Bath again. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Remember, old buildings don't have elevators so be prepared for stairs.

Had a great stay at The Henry Guest House for 3 nights. Colin was an awesome host and Bath was a great town to spend a few days in. We enjoyed the convenience of the guest house's location to all the attractions. We particularly enjoyed doing the Bath Skyline hike (6 mile loop) around the city despite the weather.

My husband and I stayed in The Henry Guest House few days ago for three nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The location could not be better, it is so close to everything, including train station. We were located on the top floor, which includes a bit of climbing, but we did not mind it at all, and there are rooms available on the lower floors. Our room was a bit tired, but flly functionning, and we were told that it is just about to be redecorated. There was a generous supply of biscuits and coffee/ tea in the room. Good selection of stuff for breakfast. The english breakfast was just great!!! Colin has definitely a great talent there. Colin is actually the main attraction of the place - extremely friendly and helpful, smily and so nice to chat to. I would definitely go back there again and recommend the place! PS: a discount card is attached to the key sets, which is useful for a lot of local restaurants and attractions. Thanks guys for a lovely stay!

Our family of five (kids are 18 to 21) stayed at The Henry for two nights on a three day visit to Bath right after Christmas 2013. I highly recommend staying at the Henry - great location, very nice rooms, and great hosts. I had booked their apartment (around the corner from their main building) for our stay, but unfortunately a severe storm that came through on Christmas ended up flooding the apartment. Colin and Jacka switched us to three very nice rooms (4, 6, and 8) in their main building at no cost to us. Those three rooms would normally have cost me significantly more than the apartment. They also included breakfast each day for our family at no cost, as that is normally a separate 5 GBP/person charge for those renting the apartment. I had a rental car and Jacka emailed me ahead of time to let me know where the nearby parking lots are located and their daily costs. I chose the Rail Station parking as it was the lowest cost and only a few blocks walk. Colin helped us out each morning with good advice on what to see and do - and the breakfasts were excellent. For those with teenagers, the in-house free WiFi was greatly appreciated. I chose The Henry originally due to its location, a few blocks south of the Roman Baths and Abbey, as we wanted to spend our time just walking around seeing the historic sights and shopping, and it was a great choice. A very nice feature at the Henry is their up to date bathrooms with plenty of hot water, which is not always found in B&Bs in the older buildings in England. Our family all agreed that our time in Bath was the best part of our ten day trip around southern England and Wales - The Henry and its hosts (Colin, Jacka, and Liz) were a big factor in this.

Room Tip: All of the rooms require going up stairs (no elevator), which was no problem for us. Rooms 1 &...

I stayed at the Henry Guest House in November and found it to be welcoming and pleasant. The room-for-one on the fourth floor was small, but twice the size of the closet-sized room that I had just occupied in London. It was very clean, and my private bathroom across the hall was immaculate. The linens were of good quality, and the breakfast was delicious.
Colin. the perfect host, showed me to my room and carried my luggage up and down the stairs.
The location of the Henry Guest House can't be beat, and I would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed 2 nights at The Henry recently, and wished we could have stayed longer! The location was perfect, being a short 5-minute walk from Bath Spa train station. (As I had elderly parents + young children + big bags, it was imperative that we didn't have to walk far.)

We occupied Rooms 1 (on first floor) and 4 (on 2nd floor). Room 4 had a large lovely bathroom; Room 1 had a separate bathroom and toilet.Surprisingly, the large bathroom of Room 4 was not heated, but we didn't find it too cold. Like other reviewers had said, Colin was an excellent host. The house itself was cosy and little touches like bedside reading lights and cookies show the hosts' thoughtfulness.

Location-wise, besides being close to the train station, it was also only a short walk to the Roman Baths and the pedestrian area. We arrived just in time for the last day of the Christmas markets which were held around the Roman Baths / Bath Abbey, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Marks & Spencer and KFC are just almost next door to The Henry.

We picked up our rental car on our 2nd day - here is another boon. There aren't that many parking areas in Bath and here at The Henry there was one just across the main road (Manvers Street). We had heard stories of how others had to park their cars some distance from their lodging.

All in all - would highly recommend The Henry. Would definitely stay there again if/when we're in Bath again.

Colin was a great host and makes a lovely breakfast! Made us feel really special and really welcomed us in. Really good location too, but no car parking as right in the city centre. I would definitely stay again, it was lovely. Thank you so much!

Room Tip: Lots of stairs, try and get one lower down.
