Four of us stayed at Grove Lodge this weekend. I have to say that its website doesn't do it justice at all, as we really enjoyed our stay ay this light, airy and peaceful place. It is set back from the main road behind a big laurel hedge, so any traffic noise is pretty much muffled. I booked us two "very large doubles" at £82 per night each. I have attached some pics of room 4 which is the one I was in. It was big, light, very clean, and the bed was comfortable; it had a spacious bathroom with a large shower cubicle. I also walked round the other bedroom (room 1) which seemed even larger and had a fun quirky bath plus shower in a cupboard and a separate toilet. The owner, Isabel, was very helpful with a quiet, friendly manner - she even drew me a map of how to find good local pubs and she makes a mean breakfast :) If you're coming in the dark it's not the easiest place to find, despite the sign outside, so do ask for directions. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

We stayed one night at this B&B and we can highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Bath.
In contrast to an earlier reporter's experience we were greeted on arrival by the very friendly hostess who then brought a pot of tea to our room.
The room itself (room 1 on the ground floor) was clean, airy, spacious and elegant with a king sized bed with fresh clean bedding.
The en-suite bathroom was also clean and airy.
Parking in Bath is a nightmare but this B&B has the advantage of free on street parking available in the adjacent roads where the car can be left all day. There is a regular service into the city from the bus stop outside the property which takes around 10 minutes but we chose to walk which took about 30 minutes to the centre.

Two of us were visiting Bath for business purposes and got installed in Grove Lodge by our local partner. The accommodation was one of the most memorable aspects of our stay in Bath. Our rooms were spacious, very stylish, very English! The view from my window onto a sunlit garden with a magnolia tree and lichen-covered stonework made me feel like on a relaxing holiday in the countryside. The owner, Isabel turned out to be most helpful source of information about Bath and a patient teacher of more obscure English words. Her recommendations of shops were very much appreciated by both of us. The food was also an education, very traditional :), but above all tasty and filling. If I ever go to Bath again, I will definitely try to book Grove Lodge again.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Grove lodge for one night as we were on a quick tour of the South West. I am so sad that we did not have more time to stay at Grove Lodge as we were made to feel very welcome. The owner Isabel made us feel very welcome and at home. The room we stayed in was on the ground floor directly looking into the garden. It was very spacious, well equipped and clean. The en-suite was also of a high standard - my partner loved the powerful shower! Bed was comfortable and noise was minimal despite being situated near a busy road. The town centre was well within walking distance and Isabel gave us helpful local information. Breakfast was very filling with a good selection of English or continental styles. Even after we checked out Isabel allowed us to store our baggage whilst we went shopping in Bath. All in all the best guest house I have stayed at in the UK.

Four of us stayed at this wonderful guesthouse whilst visiting Bath on 13 July for two nights, the rooms were very comfortable, very clean and good location. Breakfast was tasty and nice choice. The owner Isabel was very very helpful, gave us plenty of information on what do whilst in Bath and also recommended other local areas to visit and recommended some restaurants however all this information is povided in the rooms.
We ate at the George Pub, food was excellent and very reasonable, lovely atmosphere in this old worldly pub. When we return to Bath we will definitely be staying at Grove Lodge again.

Having looked at lots of Bed & Breakfast places on the internet I came across this establishment by accident. It is not well promoted, but something about it appealed. We were not disappointed. We stayed in Room 4 which overlooked the garden. The room itself was beautiful - huge with lovely high celings and the original marble and tiled fireplace. Queen sized bed and beautiful white cotton bedding. The bathroom was also huge having been a single room. Also with orginal fireplace and a tiled shower cubicle which would have taken three people easily. The whole place was a delight - good location - friendly welcome - delicious breakfast and the highlight of our stay in the west country.
