We just finished a great dinner at The Herd Steak Restaurant. My husband and I split the Rib Eye and it was excellent! The Garden Vegetables were excellent, as well. We’ll worth the walk down the stairs!

My husband and I love a steak now and again but quite often are disappointed when we order one either it’s fatty, not cooked correctly or the quality or flavour just isn’t quite right.

We went into Herd off of the street, we took a chance but boy were we glad we did, the food was stunning, in fact we both said the Fillet Steak we had (1 rare & 1 medium) was the best we’d ever had, succulent not a scrap of fat, full of flavour, just beautiful, I also had the mushrooms in garlic and parsley - again just full of flavour!

I had a dessert which I never normally do, but I kinda couldn’t stop eating by this point! I thought the sticky toffee pudding wouldn’t quite match up to the rest of it but it did it was gorgeous!

In terms of the service well that was very good too, attentive (but not over-attentive) friendly professional staff, we felt looked after.

There are a lot of stairs and no lift so be aware of this, the ambiance is nice, with candles, but the food doesn’t only speak for itself it positively shouts!! We will most definitely be back again and are planning friends and family to share it with.

Perfectly cooked , a lot of flavour , and high quality meat.
We came here once about 4 years ago and loved it. It felt like tempting fate to come back somewhere we rated so highly , but it was even better again.
I recommend this place highly.

Steak was delicious and cooked as asked, sides were also very nice. Was surprised not to have any chimichurri in the menu though!

Very tasty steaks in a nice restaurant. Quirky decor and good service. The calamari starters were lovely. Gets busy so would suggest booking a table.
