We passed this interesting restaurant on our way into town from our hotel (Dukes). It caught our eye because of the cows. The menu looked great so we had to try it. The walls are all white and there are candles everywhere. There are cows all over. It is very cute, not tacky! Everyone we came in contact with was Italian and extremely friendly! I ordered the shrimp (an app – garlic, chili and butter) and herb mashed potatoes. My husband got the roasted chicken breast with twice fried chips. We could not pass on the chocolate mousse. It was served on a wood board with a white chocolate spoon. It was beyond amazing!!!!!!!!!!! This place has been added to the list of one of our favorite restaurants. We look forward to eating here in the future!!!

Fab new restaurant in centre of Bath where old Vitos used to be. It is all about the steak - a fact you can't miss as you come down the stairs! Excellent and attentive service without being too in your face. It is pricey but the steak was well worth the extra money and to be honest I don't mind spending the extra cash on good food. An excellent (and well priced) bottle of red accompanied the meal. The only negative was dessert (I had the chef's chocolate mousse) which was disappointingly bland. But all in all a good meal and we will definitely be back!

We stumbled upon this Jamie Oliver restaurant while walking around Bath. We stopped in for a late lunch, the owner was present and very attentive. We tried their lunch special which included a crimini mushroom bruschetta and a grilled houmani cheese with arugula.... oh my goodness. Though our entrees were delicious (burger, gnocchi), I would come back for these two most impressive and uniquely delicious appetizers :) Yum!

This was a Monday night visit and as someone else said probably wiser to make a booking, but we did it for the Monday to be sure. Service was great, in that it was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I had the carpaccio and loved every mouthful as a starter, my partner had the halloumi. We shared a Cote de Boeuf with Béarnaise, taste was fabulous, but as another reviewer said there was quite a bit of waste.... next time I might try a different cut. Being a gutsy I had the rice pud and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a good Argentinian Merlot - worth the money. Yes I would recommend Herd - so suggest others follow the Herd too

We arrived at the venue after reading it in a magazine (Bath Life, issue 2436 - 20th Sept 2013). We did not see any member of staff waiting at the entrance downstairs, and nothing indicating the usual "please wait to be seated" signs that come with established and reknown restaurants. So, due to the lack of any staff member in sight, we took a seat for 3 people. Upon being seated, the staff threw us very (nicely put) filthy looks, as if we did not belong in the place. The waitress that came to us informed, in broken and extremely aggresive English, that we required reservations beforehand and was not allowed to order. We tried to explain that their advertisement did not indicate any form of reservation was required to dine there, but this waitress became near hostile and kept ushering us out of the venue. Needless to say, we left with very negative impressions of the place.

In conclusion, this restaurant should be avoided due to its misleading advertisements and highly unwelcoming staff. The lack of service alongside the inability of certain staff members who are unable to even speak fluent English makes this place a definite no-go. No restaurant serves great cuisine if their staff are crude and highly unappealing in mannerisms.
