Reviewed July 21, 2013

We happened across this delightful little deli yesterday and had the most delicious plate of salads.
We are going to become regulars ! The flavours were yummy. Everything is prepared fresh each morning and there was a good selection of foods and drinks. Lovely friendly owners. If all the tables are full, ask for a take-away and go to The Parade Gardens nearby with it - just don't miss it!

“Great little cafe...”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Stumbled upon this place looking for a quick little lunch. Tried a sandwich and a piece of quiche. Both were very tasty and the guy working was very pleasant, asking us about our travels and providing details about the varying cider options. Would definitely recommend.

“Lovely cafe”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

The only downside to this cafe is that is a little cramped. However, as they say, good things come in small packages.

The cafe was opened fairly recently by a delightful couple who have been there both times we've visited. They are warm and welcoming, and did not rush us at all. The food is also great with many items being either classic or classic with a twist. For example, I had broccoli soup with a poached egg which was served with some of the best bread I've had in ages. The bread was warm and fresh - amazing. The tea is served with a cute tea timer - 2, 3 and 4 minutes if I remember correctly - so you can have a perfect cuppa.

This cafe also served breakfast all day which is a plus on the weekend. It also does take away, and has amazing bread and local produce on offer (e.g. quails eggs from Bradford on Avon).

“A must for lunch”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We have had lunch several times now at the Blue Quail and the service and the quality of the food cannot be faulted. My husband is a Coeliac and knowing that the food is cooked on site and freshly cooked they know exactly what goes into everything. The choice is varied, I have had the "meal in a bowl" several times which is different every time and are amazing. The sandwiches are freshly made and served with extremely varied salads. The pies and Quiches look amazing and my husband has enjoyed the frittata's. Nice choice of wines , teas and coffee's but you must save room for the cakes. I see going to the Blue Quail and having a slice of the Red Velvet cake as my naughty little treat.

I only wish they had more room for extra tables as it can get full very quickly.

“Excellent”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

We went on the recommendation of a friend for a casual lunch and cannot fault this deli/cafe If you are in Bath and want some authentic home cooking with loads of flavour you must come here. The restaurant caters for simple soups and salads to excellent soups and sandwiches as well as a few more substantial dishes. There are also various artisan breads and some excellent cakes on offer. I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is looking for something that is original and not part of a bigger chain.
