A group of 20 of us stayed at La Belle Abode Townhouse for my sister’s hen do. The house is absolutely beautiful, whilst still feeling homely. When I arrived I was greeted by Dani who kindly showed us around the property. She was lovely and continued the fantastic service that I had received all throughout the booking process with Hilary. The house was extremely well stocked with glasses, cutlery and crockery and the dishwasher was a god send! The rooms were also very spacious meaning we never felt on top of each other. We truly felt as though the house was ours for the short time we spent there, and being located right in the heart of Bath we were able to walk straight to the shops without having to worry about taxis. There is also an M&S literally just around the corner which is extremely helpful! If I did have any negatives, it would be that the downstairs floor smelt slightly damp and the WiFi was extremely slow (so don’t bank on it!) but these minor issues in no way affected the quality of our trip. I would most certainly recommend La Belle Abode to a friend and would definitely consider contacting Laura’s Townhouse Apartments to find accommodation next time I visit Bath!
We were a group of 14, we found the house superb. Location is ideal , being near the tourist attractions & shops.
The only negative was that the fridge is rather small for a large group if you are self catering.
La Belle Abode is in a great location - very near all the sites of Bath and close to the station. It is a large house over 5 stories than can sleep up to 20 people, but is also good for a more intimate gathering. By the decor and comments book, a lot of hen's parties use it. What worked: location, facilities, lounge room, bedrooms. What didn't work: wi-fi (terrible), dining room (more like a conference room), glassware (very random), rubbish collection (left out on the street as requested to still be there a day later), seagulls (love all the rubbish and will keep you awake all night...).
The house was well equipped with essentials but the decor was definitely more designed for a girly hen party rather than our perhaps slightly more traditional tastes. Though there were many nice prints of Bath in the reception areas, mirror framed pictures of high heels and corsets, Marylin Monroe etc.. we're the order of the day in the bedrooms. The furniture was similarly a strange mix of mock Georgian and pure kitsch.Though there were TVs in every room, there were absolutely no books in the entire house. The WiFi hub was in the cellar and provided very poor reception on the two lower floors but no reception at all on the upper floorsThere were lots of 'feature' clocks ( none of them old) but not a single one was working as no one had bothered to change the batteries. The dining room was very peculiar indeed with fold up office/school tables covered in extremely somber black tablecloths. It felt something between a wake and corporate away day! There were a few high stools in the kitchen but some of these seemed extremely rickety. Perhaps the worst thing about our visit was the huge number of herring gulls that were resident in this part of town. They were extremely noisy from 4.15am onwards and woke up even the youngsters in our group on each day.
Just returned from a 2 night stay for a hen part at the town house. Had a fantastic stay with the city right on the doorstep. The arrival was very welcoming with tea/coffee and some snacks waiting for us. The booking was very simple and was able too email the owner and have our questions quickly answered. Fitted all the party comfortably in the house with adequate bathrooms. All the hens were very pleased with the accomadation and I will 100% be recommending this accomadation.
Excellent location - 5 mins walk from the train station. Each room was beautifully presented, clean, with towels and linen. Spacious dining room and lounge for communal areas, great for larger groups. Well stocked kitchen in terms of mugs, plates and glasses. But cooking equipment wasn't so great- a small minus in an otherwise fantastic rental. We had a wonderful stay - thank you!
A beautiful house in a very central location. Excellent cleanliness . The little extras made a difference such as croissants, tea and coffee. The house is huge, so plenty of room for a 15 strong hen do! A wonderful time was had by all!
