Owner description: Share a romantic glass of wine over flickering candlelight, sip on decadent cocktails amongst friends, or sink into a deep armchair with a pint at Circo, one of the newest bars in Bath.Named after its circular bar, Bath's Circo cocktail bar and lounge is a chic blend of the old and new with classic panelled walls, luxurious velvet Chesterfield sofas and a cool palette of chic grey tones accented by dusky burnt orange highlights. Intimate and relaxed – one of Bath’s best secrets. Softly-dimmed pendulum lights and shimmering candles create a cosy and inviting atmosphere in this ultimate bar for grown-ups, which can be found next door to The Halcyon hotel on South Parade just off Pierrepont Street, 2 minutes from the station, perfect for your after work tipple – you deserve it!In the daytime you can connect to the free Wi-Fi, chill out with a coffee – or a cheeky glass of wine – from 5pm onwards and enjoy the refined, yet friendly, atmosphere as you sink into one of the sumptuous sofas with a couple of plates of delicious home cooked tapas and full meals. Or wait until darkness falls to enjoy the candlelit lounge with a soundtrack of eclectic chilled-out beats until 3am.The bar has an extensive wine and cocktail list is the order of the day and this is complemented by a range of carefully-selected spirits that bring the international taste of party hotspots like Brazil and Cuba to Bath. Circo is all about relaxation; so come in and unwind. The outdoor lounge is inspired by the laid-back vibe of Stockholm in the summer, where outdoor living isn't confined to hot sunny days. When the sun is shining, pull up a pew with a chilled beer in hand. When winter draws in cuddle up close and perhaps a dram of something a little stronger.

“Too cliquey”
Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

Came here late evening with great expect ions but the batman clearly wanted to go home and we had to wait an age just to order. The cocktails were ok. The atmosphere was cliquey as there were a lot of work people that clearly go there a lot. Not welcoming at all. Your not London, stop trying so hard to be cool!

“Perhaps a victim of its own success”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

So very busy on a Saturday with 'preppie' young guys with popped collars, all spending the family cash. 6 tables were reserved for a party that were an hour late, so no one could sit down.

Cocktails were well made, but I would suggest that you try to find a somewhat quieter and less hip venue, unless you are from the cast of 'made in Chelsea'.

“Awful, Never Again”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

What a miserable experience that was last night, this used to be a decent place to go, waited 45 minutes at the bar to get served while the staff fanny about making cocktails,
That's 45 MINUTES! Two people with us left without getting served at all after paying to get in a paying to check their coats in, then everyone has to queue to use the ladies loos as the gents was flooded, while I appreciate that this was unforeseen as I left I had some security woman screaming at me to lower the loo seat....which I had lifted for reasons of hygiene.........really? This is a club that tells you to take your hat off on entering, why? I'm over 40 I just don't get this place...........

“cool, chic underground bar”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

this bar charges a £5 entrance, its quite small inside but the dj was playing cool music. cocktails are about £8 and there is a serious selection on the menu. Alot of women, fewer men. You just want to go somewhere else after an hr or so..

“Cocktails at Circo”
Reviewed February 14, 2013 via mobile

Me and my Boyfriend went here for pre-drinks on Valentines and the staff were very friendly and willing to help. The place was underground level and decor was lovely and great seats to sit at. Main reason we were here was for the Cocktails and they didn't dissapoint! The variety was great and what we chose was lovely. A favourite was the Sherbert Sour. In all it was a great place for pre-drinks. A must visit if you're in Bath.
