Description: The Kilted Chef is an independent restaurant in the centre of Bath, serving contemporary British food with a Scottish twist. Our warm and ambient dining facilities provide the perfect venue for a relaxed lunch or memorable dinner in the heart of Bath. All our dishes use only the finest ingredients whilst reflecting the varying seasons. Our set lunches and pre-theatre dishes offer particularly good value for money and we have received many favourable reviews of our A La Carte and bespoke taster menus which can be prepared on request.

“good menu choices”

This is a cosy and quiet restaurant. The food is presentation conscious which sometimes gets in the way of the food. The service was very friendly and helpful.

“A really enjoyable Hogmanay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

Based on the other reviews on Trip Advisor I booked the Kilted Chef for our new year visit to Bath....and we were not disappointed! We were seated in a lower level basement room which felt quite private and romantic. Every course was very thoughtfully and cleverly created and we enjoyed every one. The choice of wine and spirits was suited to the food and the service very attentive and friendly. The only comment we would make is that the decor is a little tired but the food and ambience more than made up for this. We really enjoyed our evening.

“New years dinner”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

We had our New years dinner at the Kilted chef after reading good reviews. But it was rather underwhelming for the amount we payed. Nothing was really original or very tasty so I would say it was rather average. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did ask for bread and they had to put it first in the oven. I just wished they would have put more thought in a New years dinner for 160 Pounds for 2 people.

“Christmas lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2013

We recently enjoyed our office Christmas lunch at the Kilted Chef. The restaurant itself is very cosy & had a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very welcoming & attentive. I had the lamb for my main course which was absolutely cooked to perfection:in fact ,I would say it is the best I have ever tasted. I did canvas my work colleagues who equally enjoyed their menu choices.
A big thank you to Nicki & staff for a lovely start to our Christmas.
My only criticism ;is that the drinks are a bit on the expensive side but don't let that put you off visiting the "Kilted Chef"

“Good meal, good price (twice)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

Interesting 'basement' location: but it felt very welcoming, light yet cosy.

We had a pre-theatre meal here, which I felt was well presented and good value. The chef obviously puts lots of thought into dishes and also into presentation. Service was very good: friendly but not pushy.

I returned by myself a couple of weeks later to have lunch, taking advantage of a twitter-advertised 15% discount offer.

Certainly worth a visit.
