Description: The Kilted Chef is an independent restaurant in the centre of Bath, serving contemporary British food with a Scottish twist. Our warm and ambient dining facilities provide the perfect venue for a relaxed lunch or memorable dinner in the heart of Bath. All our dishes use only the finest ingredients whilst reflecting the varying seasons. Our set lunches and pre-theatre dishes offer particularly good value for money and we have received many favourable reviews of our A La Carte and bespoke taster menus which can be prepared on request.

“Great food and location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

Enjoyed our evening at the Kilted Chef, with lovely food and wine, and a nice atmosphere. Doing well since it opened only 4 months ago. Will be going again on our next visit to historic Bath.

“Great warm place on a cold night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Last minute booking for Sunday night and went with my wife and son - extremely friendly and warm welcome ... as someone else said some really super "amuse bouches" an interesting and far from expensive wine list. I found the combination of lamb with great taste and liver parfait was super. My wife was slightly concerned that the samphire in her dish was a little woody (but wouldn't let me tell Sue running FOH who I am sure would have reacted) my son loved his vemnison dish. I really liked the idea of cocktails to match the desserts.. Yes we will be back..

Hello froggychap, many thanks for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your evening with us, out of the cold, and warming your bellies! And yes, if you had let me know about the sapphire, we would have happily rectified for you. Sadly it's one of those vegetables that you can't tell is going to be woody or not until you take a bite, but we will follow up with our supplier, so thank you for mentioning. It was a pleasure to meet you all, and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Best Regards, Sue Chalmers, Front of House Manager, Kilted Chef

“Excellent restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I have now been here twice for lunch and on both occasions the food has been excellent. The ambience is great , Its quiet unlike some chain restaurants which are very buzzy and noisy and you can hardly hear yourself speak.
Thoroughly recommend.

“A lovely treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

We visited Kilted Chef this weekend and has the tasting menu as a treat. At £75 for 8 courses and 6 glasses of wine it's definitely good value!
The food was beautifully presented and delicious, and the wine pairings were perfect. One downside is we were sat by a bit of a walthrough but that didn't spoil the evening. We'll be back to try the a la carte!

A belated thank you Ljmetherell for your review, I would have responded sooner but we have been quite busy! We are very glad you enjoyed your Taster Menu with us, and apologise that you were on a table near a walk through, I will make sure you are seated elsewhere when you come back to try our a la Carte - new menu launching next week, plus you'll get 10% loyalty discount when you come during March & April!
