We went to this restaurant for my husband's birthday & could not find fault with anything. The staff were attentive, hard working and welcoming on what was a very busy Saturday night. Trip advisor should remove the last review which can only have been written by someone with some kind of vendetta since you only need to look at the menus on their website to see that there is nothing "unadventurous" about it. In addition, there was an "amuse bouche" which was delicious and unexpected, evidently created by a passionate & inspired chef. We ate pan fried lamb sweetbreads & Scottish smoked lobster for starters followed by fillet steak & lamb, all very tasty and far from bland.
With regard to the presentation I found this to be contemporary, photographs on the website show the style of presentation; nothing 80s about it.
We will absolutely return again when we have a babysitter as our nights off from looking after the children are rare and we enjoy the fine dining experience, and are delighted to have discovered an independent restaurant with such flair & originality.
