“Beautiful house, lovely hosts”
Reviewed April 5, 2014 via mobile

My girlfriend brought me here for my 30th birthday. We haven't stayed in many B&B's before, but if others are anything like this we'll be staying in a lot more!

The location is is on a nice, quiet street and is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of town. We were greeted by Ruth who was tremendously friendly and helpful with bits of advice about the city. The next day was my birthday and Ruth brought me out a delicious home made birthday cake with the breakfast (which was also great - thanks Gary!) as well as leaving a card in the room - really lovely touch.

All in all, you can't really ask for much better service. Throw in the fact that the house is incredibly nice and clean, and I don't think there can be many more desirable places to stay in Bath.

We have just spent a long weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday at Ruth and Gary's beautifully modernised Bath stone rectory. We greatly enjoyed our elegant surroundings and most particularly the huge and luxurious bed and the delicious breakfasts.

Nothing was too much trouble for Ruth and Gary, and all in a most friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We couldn't fault them and I would have given them top rating anyway but the icing on the cake was the wine, flowers and chocs which appeared in our room to celebrate Carol's birthday.

We stayed here two nights as a gift from my parents. We stayed in the Cavendish room and were not disappointed (after much hype from my Mum who absolutely adored it). After arriving in somewhat adverse weather conditions we were warmly welcomed and made a fresh pot of coffee to enjoy in the spacious living room.

The entire place was spotless, and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the furnishings and style of the entire property. Both mornings of our stay we enjoyed breakfast in the beautiful conservatory drenched in sunlight. The breakfast was superb with so many delicious things on offer we struggled to make a selection.

All in all, our stay couldn't have been more comfortable. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and made the enjoyment of their guests a priority. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Bath and I hope that we can make it back ourselves in the future.

This was a magical find, my sister and I spent two lovely evenings at this B&B last week to give ourselves two days of Christmas shopping. It is a mere 15 minute walk into the centre of Bath and has a great large driveway for safe parking. We were given a warm welcome and made to feel very much at home. The rooms are large, spotless and cosy, tastefully decorated with all the mod cons, the en-suite is spacious, ours had a super hot power shower with large dense towels - seventh heaven. And the breakfasts were thoroughly divine, there is a large menu but the salmon and scrambled eggs hit the spot for us! Thank you Abbey Rectory B&B we shall see you again soonest. Ali & Janey

Room Tip: We had the Cavendish Room which was just lovely and would easily sleep 3 - very quiet, we slept like...

The perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the sights of Bath. This B&B had such a warm feel to it, everything was clean and tastefully considered. We really felt at home and enjoyed returning there each evening. Added to that, the breakfast selection made it tough to choose from all the delicious things on offer and the service was friendly and faultless. We highly recommend it.

Very nicely decorated clean rooms, friendly owners, tasty breakfast and not too far to walk into town. Definitely a comfortable, relaxing place to stay if visiting Bath, especially after the craziness of the christmas markets!
