“Divine little spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

You purchase your food cafeteria style inside the Pavilion (actual name is Royal Victoria Park Pavilion) and you can eat in with an overlooking view or out front under trees. I had just tea and carrot cake. The cake was good, not exceptional, and the tea was served in standard drippy metal pots. All very average. And I can't comment further on the menu. But having my tea under that tree -- even with the ever-present loud talker at the table next -- was definitely a special Bath memory. So I rate it overall, very good, and recommend for sure.

“A perfect Sunday roast!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

First time and was really impressed! Roast dinner was superb, with fresh vegetables! For less than £10 with drink what can I ask for... Will be back, often! Though the place needs updating its overlooking a nice view! But won't be put off not coming back...

“Nice views.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

It was really hot inside. The cakes looked lovely. We only had drinks so can't comment on the taste of them. I wouldn't recommend the place but it's fine if you want a quick refreshment.

“This is a great place for home cooked food at a sensible price in a great location, and well used by locals.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

This is a cafe in the park and not to be judged against up market dining restaurants. Having said that it does a fine Sunday roast lunch at a very decent price. It is 'order and pay at the counter' and then table service for hot food . The service is first rate and the staff, often young , extremely friendly.

Weekday lunches are equally good. The view overlooking the bowling green , the tennis court and the crazy golf are delightful.

The proprieters provide a fine catering service and we locals regularly hold small events there. They have proved succesfull and hassle free.

This is quintissential England and if you dont appreciate its charm you may need your soul adjusting!

“Lovely setting, nice food, not very clean”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

While this is certainly a no-frills place, the setting overlooking the bowling green really is lovely. It is a very light place and a couple of balconies allow you to sit outside if you wish. The food is all home cooked and very tasty, and as you are ordering at the counter it is quite comical to hear staff singing away to the radio! The downside to this cafe is that it is not particulary clean; yes, the floor and table tops are free from crumbs but the natural light beaming in from the numerous windows only brings your attention to the iron tablelegs which clearly havent been cleaned for a very long time. The toilets are a letdown too. A good scrub of the whole place would make this charming place even more endearing.
