Didn't recognise the experience from the comments in the negative reviews, although clearly other reviewers really enjoyed it. So did we.
This is a good-value restaurant with a pleasing ambiance. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Food is a cut above the normal and creative, for prices that are only slightly above the standard night out in many bog-standard eateries in Bath. The sort of place to go for a bit of a treat without fear of breaking the bank - in our case a main, plus dessert and wine for under £60. This on an early Saturday evening, with the place already fairly full.
Perhaps the negative commentators expected Michelin Star food at slightly above Steak-House prices? A mystery to me.
