Description: Brasserie Blanc is located in the Francis Hotel on the beautiful Queen Square and within walking distance of Bath's shops, restaurants and the world famous Roman Baths & Pump Rooms. On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly, knowledgeable team and the lively ambience is complemented by a menu inspired by the simple, hearty dishes of M. Blanc's childhood. Alongside an appetising a la carte menu and carefully selected wine list it offers an excellent value set menu and on Sundays it serves a classic roast with all the trimmings. Younger diners can choose from a special children's menu or order a half sized portion of many of the a la carte dishes on offer.Whether you are looking for a simple lunch, a romantic dinner or a family celebration it is the perfect choice!

We went there recently on spec for sunday lunch and had a very good meal, the roast beef was first class and only £12.95 or so.Drinks were not expensive and the service faultless. The manager should sharpen up his customer service skills as no amount of good food makes up for a dour greeting.

Was expecting to be 'ripped off' with prices, what with it being part of a top class chef's restaurant chain. What a very pleasant surprise. Sensible prices, excellent food, friendly staff.
Fixed price 2 / 3 course menu with a very good choice of dishes. (this is the lunch menu which operates up until 7 pm).
Any moans?
Paper serviettes and paper table cloths. BUT, if this means keeping the food prices low then so be it.
Oh by the way, the recommended wine on the fixed priced menu was excellent, not standard table wine, and fairly priced.

There was a mix up with our reservation but somehow in what was a very busy Saturday night were given a table without fuss. Being busy the atmosphere was great and had a real French feel. Service was good and quality of food was also good. In fact I find it hard to pick fault. My only slight gripe was that we had what we thought was a lovely table by a window but it was a really cold night outside and hence there was a cold draft on my back. That said highly recommended and no hesitation in returning.

We were really looking forward to going and had booked weeks in advance of our weekend. On arrival we stood for what seemed like an uncomfortable length of time before being acknowledged in a very offhand way as if we had just walked in on spec. The manager couldn't find our booking and didn't even speak to us he just went off to find a table. We then saw that he moved two people from a table for four. He then came and said 'follow me' and we did, but half way across the full restaurant changed his mind and took us in a different direction until we finally got to sit down. The table had been used and the cloth was dirty. It was not a good start to the meal. On request the table was cleared and laid again. The waitress was helpful and from then on couldn't be faulted but the meal had already been spoilt by the rude reception we had received. The food was good but not special. A very disappointing dining experience!

A little disappointed on our first visit. The dressed Brixham crab came with pieces of shell amongst the mix - a pretty basic error. The waitress apologised and took my (quiet) complaint to the kitchen. A complimentary coffee would have acknowledged the mistake without going overboard but nothing was forthcoming. Comfortable surroundings though and a good atmosphere. Waiting staff were efficient but a shade short of welcoming. Very good value for money however and would certainly give it another try.
