“Good location, good price, friendly staff but hotel needs to improve”

We stayed for one night in Bath to attend a friends birthday party. The hotel is central, a short walk up hill from the train station. You enter through the restaurant and the first inconvience for us was that check in wasn´t until after 3pm, which I thought was quite late. The staff were very friendly however, and happy to look after our bags and take them up to our room. When we arrived later, we went to our room at the top of two flights of stairs). The interior of the hotel seemed very old fashioned and looked in need of a good clean. Our room was large, the nicest feature was the old claw footed bath, however the paint was peeling from the walls and it could certainly do with a refurbish. We had a lovely lunch in the Loch Fyne restaurant within the hotel, which I can certainly recommend, both in terms of quality and price. There is a good choice for breakfast, but the hollandaise sauce with the eggs benedict was revolting - very strong taste and smell of vinegar which was such as shame and the rest of it was very nice.

Room Tip: Our room was near a pretty noisy street but to be honest we arrived late and didn´t really notice.

Fair value for central location, staff welcoming and helpful, yes it's stairs all the way. My only real gripe is that the hotel is on the corner of Milsom Street and George Street on which there are two nightclubs, and in the early hours the revellers do not leave the area but continue their partying for another hour or so shouting at each other on the street below your wndow without dispersing - thanks for a ruined night's sleep. Won't return.

We arrived at the very centrally located hotel after a walk from the Charlotte Street Car Park and checked in at the reception/bar at the entrance to the Loch Fyne restaurant. The staff were very friendly. A strange route through the door labelled Toilets took us to the staircase and up to our first floor room . First glance was good very impressive high ceiling and spacious feel. A lovely comfortable bed in the room with 2 sofas and lots of room. Behind a bedhead room divider was the bathroom area. Not so impressive cheap small shower cubicle ( pressure was good though!) when there would have been room for a nice bath by the window. Lots of chipped tiles too - shabby in need of an overhall. Good job the bed was comfortable as we were kept awake by drunks singing, bin men and all sorts of noises not to mention the seagulls!?
Breakfast down stairs was good but with poor staff and the buffet part was never refilled, we had to ask for more coffee. Check out was fine and they looked after bags while went shoppigng and then got the car.

We stayed at Milsoms Hotel last Sunday. The hotel's location is perfect. It is just in central. You can walk to favourite places not more than 5minutes.
The room was really clean and quite big.
It has a lovely seafood restaurant. You should try it.

The hotel is small and intimate. Lovely friendly staff who were all helpful and welcoming. We were up at the top of 4 flights of stairs. There is no lift so if you have problems with mobility give this one a miss.

The location is perfect as long as you don't bring the car. Having read the reviews I left the car at home and got the train. It is a nice easy walk through town from the station to the hotel. Once there the hotel is on top of all Bath has to offer and I would highly recommend it for that reason.

The breakfast was adequate but not amazing but the waiting staff were so friendly it helped make up for it.

The rooms are clean and fresh - not the height of luxury but well maintained and pleasant. I all I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere at the centre of Bath and affordable.

Recently stayed over the bank holiday. Very friendly welcome from staff. Rooms are characterful - a little jaded but in a pleasant sort of writers retreat way. It's a fabulous central location and easy to walk to all the major sites and restaurants in Bath from here.

I'd probably try to avoid having room 4 though (unless you are going out late) - because it faces onto the Slug and Lettuce and the Revolution bar, so was quite noisy until they closed. Deathly silent after that though. Other rooms don't seem to face the same way.

Another thing to note is that if you are a bit large (or pregnant in my case) you shouldn't try to enter through the hotel entrance because the two doors work against each other and trap you in the porch. Oh and there are a fair few stairs!

Wouldn't recommend to business users or those looking for luxury and relaxation as there is no room service or staff, no internet or other facilities other than a room and bathroom and restaurant below. I would recommend to visitors to bath who are looking for an interesting place to stay, to explore and to use as a base that's a bit different to a travel lodge and has a more intimate feel.

Breakfast is wonderful for fish lovers.

Great place to stay for the price.

Room Tip: We had room 4 and it was a bit noisy.
