Loch Fyne Milsoms Hotel

Gorgeous, large, open room with very high ceilings and original fireplace in the room also.

Very comfy bed and lovely bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower.

The bathroom is open to the main room (although hidden from view), so although you can't see your partner using the bathroom, you can hear them so if you are in a new relationship, you might want to bear this in mind!

The room was huge with three large floor to ceiling windows which also presented a problem as they are not soundproofed at all. This means that not only do you have to put up with the revellers from the hostelry opposite (if you are that side of the hotel - we were in Room 2), you are also woken up very early by the road sweepers (which keep Bath beautifully clean).

Not a big deal but if you are not used to city noise (we are not), then it made for an interesting night!

The room however did make up for it as it is so large it also has a 2 seater couch and 2 chairs as part of the lounge area - great for watching the flatscreen TV (which has a few digital channels although all English TV).

Loch Fyne restaurant serves breakfast in the morning so you can have an excellent selection of food as part of your deal, so overall, I would recommend this place but bring your earplugs if noise bothers you!

Room Tip: Go for room 1 or that side of the hotel.

Myself and partner spent 2 nights at the Milsoms Hotel earlier this month - and I cannot recommend it enough.

The hotel is perfectly located above the Loch Fynn restaurant in the centre of Bath at the top of Milsom Street and is within walking distance of the key shopping areas, Roman Baths, Thermae Spa and other main attractions.

The room, Room 2 (Deluxe Double), was fabulous. It was a nice size, tastefully decorated and had a stand-alone bath tub...what a treat!

Breakfast is served in the Loch Fynn restaurant where there was a good selection of cold buffet items and cooked-to-order items (eg smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, full english breakfast etc). We also ate dinner in the restaurant one evening which was also superb and great value for money.

The staff at the hotel were also outstanding - from the moment we arrived they went out of their way to create a perfect stay.

Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Room 2 and 3 have stand-alone bath tubs - great for a soak after a long day seeing the sights

The team of staff were excellent, customer service was well above average, the room was lovely, lots of period features, loved the big deep free standing bath in Room 1 (plenty of room for two...!) the cooked breakfast was exceptional, nice choice of drinks at the bar. Fab location, bang in the middle of it all. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

Couple of tiny improvements I could sugges; the jar that holds the tea/coffee - too deep, you have to empty it all to find anything, and the cups were too small, and not enough 'faux' milk.. also, couldn't get the body wash and shampoo off the holder in the shower, in order to use them in the bath. Very little things, very insignificant in the grander scheme..!

Room Tip: Room 1 is on the first floor, so less of a trial to get to if your all shopped out, it has a huge ba...

Stayed on NYE. Has great location in centre of town.

Only downside is noise from night time revellers. Not a big issue though.

Good breakfast and quality room. No complaints!!

My husband and I have just stayed in this hotel. We arrived at the hotel after walking 16 miles we were met by the manager who was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, warm and inviting although like many city hotel not the quietest. We dined in the Loch Fyne restaurant were both the food and service were suburb. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel's central position was exploited the following day. We would thoroughly recommend both the hotel and restaurant.

We always stay here when in Bath. Parking is a bit of a problem but it's worth it. Nice and central, comfortable and reasonably priced. Love the breakfasts in the Loch Fyne. Staff usually very nice, especially the young man at breakfast. We always consider the numerous flights of stairs up to the rooms a bit of a free workout. Would always recommend it and are disappointed if we can't get in. It is a bit noisy at weekends but it is city centre. Always our first choice in Bath.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for. More expensive rooms are lower down so not so many stairs to tackle but th...

Unfortunately, I stayed only one night, but staff were very friendly. The hotel is well-located, in central Bath, but has no lift - I was on Floor 3 - and there were quite a few stairs. I had the offer of help to take my bag up from the receptionist, but decided I needed the exercise.

I had an old-fashioned, but quite spacious room, with good shower and a VERY comfortable bed. I ate out in order to see a little of the city, but food looked excellent, and breakfast next day was truly excellent.

No problems with the hotel, but there was a drunk screaming across the street which woke me. Next time I go (and I will return) I will try the in-house restaurant and have a drink or two, so passing drunks don't wake me.

Room Tip: Take a lower floor unless you like stairs.
