Owner description: Thermae Bath Spa is Britain's only natural thermal Spa and benefits from the warm, mineral-rich waters which the Celts and Romans enjoyed over 2,000 years ago. Located in the heart of the World Heritage city of Bath, Thermae is a remarkable combination of five historic buildings and the contemporary architecture of the New Royal Bath. Highlights include the open-air rooftop pool with wonderful views over the city of Bath, the flowing curves of the Minerva Bath, the multi-sensory Wellness Suite and a choice of over 50 spa treatments and packages.

I went with a friend and we booked treatments so that we did not have to queue. It was very well organized and although it was busy it was never too full. Treatments first so we started relaxed and then we had a lunch in the little cafe. Not a huge range of food but a good choice for a day at the spa. Then on to the baths and steam rooms. It felt very Georgian - no swimming of laps or noisy children, just people floating in the warm water and chatting. We had two hours in the baths which seemed just right.

We went on Saturday morning, arrived in front of the spa a few minutes before 9am. It's a bit painfully to get up at the weekend when you like sleeping in, but absolutely worth it. We were some of the first to get in. We went straight up to the roof pool, where there were only a few people. When it started being a little busy, we went to the aroma steam rooms, we were the first ones there, then when it got busy, we went to the indoor pool, and were almost the first ones. By 10:30-11am, it got very crowded and our 2hrs spa were up, so we left. There was a massive queue outside, and we were quite happy with our choice to have gone early! It is def expensive for what it is: it doesn't even have saunas. But if you decide to go, go early!

We queued for an hour to get in. Entrance charge with a towel was £29, in my opinion way too much as the spa is more like a local leisure centre than a luxury spa.
The two pools were far too busy and noisy.
There was nowhere to relax as you would expect to in a Spa. The steam rooms were good ,four of them each with different aromatherapy fragrances.
The changing rooms and lockers were annoying and it was not fun queuing at the end for a cubicle to get dressed again.
I would not recommend it at all as an experience. It is just a money making machine.
They should limit the numbers to make it a relaxing experience.

There's no getting away from this being an expensive 'leisure centre', but if you forget about the cost then it is a nice place to go. We went on a Saturday afternoon - the queue was very long - it took us 1.5 hrs to get in, however when you get in there it is managed well and not too busy.

Favourite was the roof top pool. Don't forget your towel, robe etc so save a few pennies.

This was my third visit to Thermae Bath Spa and the first time I've had to queue for anymore than 10 minutes. We ended up queing for an hour and 10 minutes (on a Saturday during half term so not to be unexpected) but the experience is still worth it! Staff were out regularly to the queue to update those waiting. Once inside, despite the huge queue, the spa was busy but not at all cramped. Another lovely evening...
