advetised price in their website said 13pound per night but when we got there they wanted 17pound and had no justification for the price difference.

the beds were extremly squeaky in the rip room and the floor as well - so a pretty bad nights sleep.

breakfast was ok i guess but nothing special. kitchen was pretty good.

internet was extremly overpriced

location was actually pretty good - we arrived by coach and it was a 5 min walk and then from the hostel youre only 1 min from the abbey and baths.

the place was decorated quite well and the projector screen for movies/tv is a great feature.

i wouldnt stay here again if i could help it.

I agree with the other review on this site.

I liked:
The location (very close to city centre)
The inclusive breakfast

I disliked:
The late night noise - both from inside the hostel (people running up and down stairs, whilst yelling their heads off at 4am) as well as street noise.
The staff were also not at all friendly or welcoming, which is in direct contrast to other hostels I've stayed in.

I would suggest that you try to book other hostels first, as I wouldn't recommend this one!

Bath Backpackers on first view seemed like such a fun and eccentric hostel. The website was full of photos of everyone dressed up in costumes and socializing in the "party dungeon" downstairs. My friend and I were looking forward to staying two nights while exploring Bath by day.

We checked in at 9:30 and then left. When we came back at 12:30 we saw that in our four person room, three of our beds were already taken!

How in the world did they double book the bed?!

We had to get the manager who apologized and they assigned us another bunk bed in a different room. We felt like giant jackasses coming and settling in at 1 in the morning in a room filled with 6 other people. We were given a pound each to make up for it. O_o

While our bedmates were very quiet sleepers, there was a nightclub below us and people in the streets were shouting to each other all night long. It was nearly impossible to get any sleep.

The next night we saw a couple from New Zealand had also been given a bed but it was given away to someone else that night! Rather than talking to the manager, they just shared the bed instead.

It was a rather miserable experience and I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

PROS: The Hostel had hot water for showers. Breakfast wasn't bad, if very basic. The walls are very brightly colored. The kitchen is rather large and good if you want to cook your own dinners. The location is very close to the heart of Bath.

CONS: The entire staff looked like they hated their life. The nightclub down below is too loud to get any sleep. The mattresses are rock hard. And apparently Bath Backpackers has a habit of double booking the beds. And I never saw one person ever in the "Party Dungeon".
