“Rubbish decor, mediocre food and poor service leads by the manager”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Average food, service is poorly lead by it's manager. Restaurant lay out spelt out in it's own humble name - which means uncomfortable seating. After a few visits, we found the place was quite well suited for students, therefore we got the Bath Uni's discount card which attracts a 10% discount for places that signed up for it. Unfortunately, the manager obviously found that 10% off a £300 bill was a bit too much to lose and denied the discount card even though we confirmed with the student union was valid at that point in time. Last visit was before Oct 2011.

“One of the best In Bath”
Reviewed July 21, 2012 via mobile

Don't listen to the few bad reviews here. I've been here many times over the years and never had a bad experience. The restaurant has inspired many of the top chefs including Keith Floyd and Rick Stein, I'm a mere amateur cook and I have taken recipes inspired by this restaurant and they've always gone down a treat. It is busy which may account for the failed responses to other customers bookings etc, however I had no such problems. All food is fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. Not too pricey for central Bath. Service friendly and efficient so, again, I don't know where the negative comments come from. I wanted something light so went for the vegetarian options off the menu - The char grilled vegetable terreine and the vegetable crumble, others had the oxtail and meat dishes all of which were delicious. No desserts this time but others is the restaurant looked delicious. If you're in Bath I wouldn't miss the opportunity to visit and I can only say that the odd bad experiences by others are not what I have ever experienced.

Reviewed July 15, 2012

Very dissapointed, booked this restaurant several months ago for a special occassion tonight, arriaved at restaurant tonight to find it closed, no reason, no e-amil, nothing. We also met another couple in the entrance to the restaurant with the same predicament. Tried phoning restaurant number but unobtainable.
