Such good coffee!!!!!! Also had my first mince pie here, which was good, and some lavender shortbread cookies which were amazing!

This is the kind of place that does not need to advertise to ensure that all the seats are always full. A friend took me here and since I have taken about 4 other people here, to exponential effect (I hope!)

As a newbie you get an introduction to "how it works here" and a run through of the day's coffees (they change the flavours fairly reguarly). You can have espresso, milky coffee (of some description) or filter coffee. Within these categories there are 3-4 different variations, with odd infusions such as 'puff pastry' or 'sandalwood' but all of them taste delicious, always. They are not tacky flavourings in the slightest, but beans roasted in a certain way to bring out certain tones in the coffee. (I think I've got most of this right, but ask them in there, they're the experts.) Oh, and if you usually have sugar in your coffee, first try these without, they are meant to be delicious as they are.

It's also a lovely spacious layout, with arty wooden tables, a cosy downstairs and a peaceful sun-catching secret garden out the back.

When they moved round the corner to bigger premises just off Queen Sq , a lot of people were worried that the intimacy of the previous surroundings would give way to something more diluted. These fears were unfounded at my most recent and in fact every visit. This place is without a doubt the best place to go for quality coffee served by friendly and knowledgeable connoisseurs.
After gong here , you will never admit that you've ever set foot in a global non tax paying seattle based establishment or anywhere that refers to roman emperors or spanish beaches again !
Believe all the reviews - C&S redefines the coffee shop genre !

We were highly recommended by some friends in Bath, so on our next visit my Wife and I sought out Colonna and Small's. We were not disappointed, both enjoying Cappuccino and Espresso versions of the selection of coffees available on that occasion and in great surroundings. The delightful, friendly staff were knowledgable and polite, making their recommendations and taking the time to explain what to look out for in the experience. Great fun and we both learnt a great deal. Take the time to talk to the barista making your coffee and enjoy the unique experience. Of course the downside is that our now educated palates are more difficult to please. We shall be returning this weekend and bring friends from Switzerland - they will love it.

This coffee shop is our first destination when coming to Bath, we always look forward to a superb coffee, at a reasonable price, served hot !! (Please note costa!!). The coffee is excellent and they give you a choice of different beans, and different ways of making the coffee.

This really is a special place where you can enjoy a fantastic coffee, simple surroundings, accompanied by pastries, slice of cake or a brownie. Cakes etc are not a priority, nor will you find a panini in sight, coffee and tea is name of the game. Nor will you find a cup of foamy over rated coffee.

Pure and simple it's all about the artisan coffee and tea, served in fantastic crockery, with beautiful spoons, it's high class at a price which all the chain coffee shops should take note of.

Service was great, advice on coffee was great, basically a faultless visit.
