“A hidden gem”

A great array of teas in a hidden away tea room - makes you feel like you are a million miles away. A great spot to have a break from walking around Bath.

“Bijou in size, great in experience”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

This is a hidden gem, but do not go there without talking to the owner who will most likely be in the shop. The man travels the world for tea and what he doesn't know who cares, every tea of the many he has, he understands fully and much time can be spent smelling before buying loose leaf treasure or going for a cuppa downstairs.
Upstairs and downstairs are bijou to say the least, it is often difficult to move without climbing over or around someone, which means people talk and smile at each other. Crowded it may be and sometimes disappointing if a seat is not available, however it is a firm 'must visit' when in Bath. Whenever we are in Bath, (we live 25 miles away) we have a heavy shopping bag after the necessary visit to restock our tea cupboard. Oh, and the cake in the tea room is great too, enjoy!.

“Very wide range of teas and coffees”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

This small tea room in the basement of a shop selling a huge range of teas and coffees is the place to go for a more unusual type of either beverage. The tea room was very small and a bit lacking in atmosphere, but worth it for the wide range.

“Wonderful intimacy in this busy city”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

My goodness, Bath is full of temptations. there is enough affluence in the area to support niche market establishments. This was one such. We found it when we were wandering round after visiting the cathedral.

On the ground floor there is an outstanding selection of teas, ideal for Christmas presents or nice gifts. Any flavour, you name it, you'll find a tea to suit. The young lady who served was knowledgeable and obviously loved her job. Tea is sold in glass jars and sold by the weight, or simply sold in normal packets. it's worth noting the when you enter the shop you are greeted with a wonderful aroma of real tea; that alone makes the visit worthwhile.

Downstairs, there is a very wonderful tearoom. It is very quiet with about a dozen tables and you can go there for a confidential chat where you don't want to be disturbed. I would avoid the smaller room on the right as you go down because that is where the service area is and it is a bit noisy. They serve the usual cake, coffee selection but obviously the emphasis is on tea and you can ask for anything you like more or less so it seems.
