“Super holiday”

We found The Boathouse to be rather special. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a large bed. The breakfast was waiter service, with full English or eggs etc to your liking. Cereal etc were to the side to help yourself. The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times, going out of their way to make sure you are enjoying the stay.
The facilities were good, with excellent choice of food at very reasonable prices, served either inside where there were plenty of seating areas or on the decking outside, with fabulous views of the river. This area had also comfortable cushioned seating for lazy afternoons.
The hotel is situated on the edge of the river with plenty to see. Just a short walk is the basin where you will find a selection of narrow boats moored. It is in close proximity to Bath with a river walk approx 4miles into the centre iif you are feeling energetic or you have the park and ride behind the hotel. From the main road there is also a bus to Bristol. Situated nearby is the Avon cycle trail with many miles of carefree riding.
This is truly a holiday where you can leave the car behind and enjoy life to the full. We are already planning a much longer stay

Room Tip: The room we had was overlooking the car park, which was secluded by trees. A front room would be ove...

If you arrive before opening time (it is a pub with rooms) you have to navigate around the outside to find an entrance you can use.
Luckily we got rooms at half the price nearly all the websites showed. It is all show and misses the important things for a quality stay: location beautiful, bath towels inadequate, shaver point ok if you want to sit on the toilet to shave! Other sockets in strange places; had to move furniture to use hair-dryer, TV is through Apple Mac (you need to be a techie).
Breakfast was ok if you were at a Premier Inn and paying £70 a night: self serve coffee and tea, 4 choices of mini boxed cereals no offer of toast after an average English breakfast and if you did ask for toast you were in luck if there was any marmalade.
Cleanliness was hit and miss: visible dust on bedside table, hair in bath, a straw from the night before in the breakfast area.

Room Tip: Make sure not in rooms 1 or 2, door banging underneath from late arrivals, early departures.

Me and a friend stayed here in May 2012. As we arrived to Bath by train we should have looked att the buses going to the hotel, because it was quite a long walk from the train station. We did not mind it very much though, as we got a nice look at the beautiful city. The small hotel building was charming and felt really genuine. The hotel manager was very helpful and obliging at our check in, showed us to our room and told us everything we needed to know for our stay. The room was absolutely fantastic and cosy, and the bathroom was lovely too. There was an iMac in the room that served as both a tv and a computer, which was a welcome surprise. We had dinner in the pub downstairs and that too was great. Good food, good drinks and very friendly staff. Breakfast the next day was also very nice, and was cooked at our request. I would very much recommend this hotel to others.

I'd have to say I was somewhat dissapointed with this place. There was a few of us staying and their rooms were certainly nicer than ours which was small, dark and with no view. When we arrived the room was freezing and we had to ask for the heating to be switched on, I know it was May but very cold and wet and our friends rooms all had heating! When we got back in that evening the heating was off again and it didn't even come on again in the morning!! We didn't eat there apart from the breakfast which I'd say was very average. Nice building and as I said our room was ok but for over £100 a night very expensive and not one I'd rush back to.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony

We stayed here for one night in April. The Hotel has had recent renovations, and it looks a treat. The rooms were very well appointed and modern. Dinner in the restaurant ws ery good, as was the breakfast. Location was very good, situated on a lovely river just outside of Bath. Staff were very helpfu and friendly.I would not hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed at this B&B as a group of 8 girls for a hen weekend. We arrived early afternoon and had lunch before checking into our rooms. I had room seven which is decorated lovely and fresh, with the added bonus of an apple tv/computer and a glass full of cadburys eclairs to munch on.
Full cooked breakfast in the morning was just what we all needed. And as I seem to have a knack of leaving phone chargers in hotel rooms, I was fortunate enough that staff found my charger and is currently in the post on its way home to me.
Fantastic little find in bath and as other reviews mention the park and ride is situated next to the hotel and is only £2.50 return into Bath, and just to note, this does not run a Sunday service.
All in all I am now convincing my partner to make a return visit with me to Bath and The Boathouse!

Room Tip: All rooms for our group were lovely, just dont open the window at night or you will be woken by the...
